F/S 1976 Stingray in Houston $5500
**Reduced Due to Short-Term Immediate Needs until Friday 9/6 Only - $3,500 cash**
F/S 1976 Stingray in Houston $5500 - Freshly inspected and road proven.
I have a numbers matching 1976 L48 Corvette (stock / all emissions in tact) for sale that I picked up to scratch an itch (corvette withdrawal). My real goal is to get a 68-74 project and am going to need more cash in my pocket thus necessitating this sale. Of course, I might be willing to trade for a 68-74 in reasonable lesser condition if someone is up for that and the car is 'right'.
I picked this car up earlier this year with a few things outstanding on it to get it road ready. After some minor work and a bit of clean up I know drive the car anytime I get a chance. I generally try and drive this car at least once every couple of weeks to the office (through Houston traffic - yay...) or on the weekend to stretch its legs a bit. Twice I have taken for my commute to our remote office in Beaumont (a 205 mile round trip) and have full confidence in it's drivability.
The things that I have done to it after purchasing it:
Biggest things that I see needing done to make me happy (were I to keep it):
Oh, and to answer another few questions I had gotten earlier:

The things that I have done to it after purchasing it:
- Quadrajet Rebuilt/Blueprinted (Sent it to Lars - the legend is real, he does INCREDIBLE work!)
- Rag Joint Replacement (took care of the slightly sloppy steering)
- Bulb Replacements (not rocket science, but important none-the-less)
- Replaced HEI Coil, Rotor, and Spark Plug Wires
- Dialed the ignition timing in
- Replaced 3 of the Calipers (they were leaky - surprise surprise)
- Replaced Parking Brake handle (Original had lost its button...)
- Reapplied Weather Stripping on Doors and pillars
- Heater Core Bypass (Temporary fix to keep from cooking my feet)
- New exterior driver door handle
- And various other interior paint and clean up projects
Biggest things that I see needing done to make me happy (were I to keep it):
- Car needs paint all around
- a Few places on body need light fiberglass clean up, driver door lower hinge bolt bushing replacement (slight sag)
- Hood/front/Nose need to be aligned better (a bit of a lip)
- New Door Panels and Seats (I don't like seat covers...)
- Replace motor on passenger power window - can be reluctant/slow to raise occassionally
- Headlights don't self rise - need to trace vacuum system to see where its leaking - next on my list since all it takes is time
- Minor drip points under car when sitting (Power Steering low pressure line I think and Oil Pain gasket) - I've been lazy and just have a drip pan under it for now until I can get time to crawl underneath - gotta keep the garage floor clean.
- -Thats pretty much my hit list off hand as it stands - not counting engine cosmetic fun stuff...
Oh, and to answer another few questions I had gotten earlier:
- AC is complete (original Freon style system) and does work - however has a leak in the system. Have added dye to the system to see where it is. Topping off with Freon it does blow cold so should be a simple seal effort to keep cold.
- all of the gauges work except for the clock;
- the mileage is at 35600, but title says mechanical limits exceeded so assuming its wrapped;
- the guy I bought the car from ran his own mechanic shop and told me that he had rebuilt the engine within the last 10k miles.
- engine block numbers do match
- car does have seatbelt and good tire treadlife (all has passed safety portion of state inspection - which is current)

Plates - You can keep/use if you live in Texas
Passenger Side
Passenger Side and Bra
Drivers side (Notice paint flaking on hood above stingray logo)
Drivers side (a bit better pic showing bubble and peel sections of paint)
Bra off (this shows the lip I mentioned that needs to be adjusted)
Another Drivers View
I'll have to shoot some rear pics - don't seem to have any in my collection... Will post them as soon as I get them on here.

Short term plans have changed - I'm willing to let it go for $3,500 cash for this week only as I have had some things pop up that require immediate capital. After end of the business week Friday I'm moving the price back to up as I will have missed my deadline for this need.
This is a great chance to save a couple grand and sink it back in towards the paint or other areas that you want to work on first. Just drive it home and take it at your own pace.

There have been several requests for pics and information regarding this throughout the day. I'm uploading the pics to include those.
It was also asked that I check the engine block number to see if it is matching, we wiped off the block stamp and matched the last 5 digits to the vin (thanks for letting me know where/how to check this). So yes, the
Engine Block Stamp does match the Car VIN.
