1971 LT-1 Coupe for sale. Restored to NCRS. #'s match. NJ
I have decided to list my 1971 LT-1 coupe for sale. This is my second classic Corvette over the last 8 years. I do not have to sell, but don't get much chance to enjoy this car with work and family commitments. She is way too nice and drives too perfectly to just sit in my garage.
She has stunning cosmetics inside and out. Paint is a very solid 9.5 out of 10. Interior is very clean and original. All Fiber Optics work. The clock works. The radio works. The wipers work. The vacuum overrides for the wiper door and the headlights work. She shifts beautifully. She starts, runs and stops beautifully. The engine is VERY strong and is a blast to drive. The LT-1 is certainly a special driving experience.
I have owned this car for about a year and a half now. I have a copy of an evaluation done on 3/30/06 by Kenneth Champagne Jr. I don't know much about him but he is said to be a respected Corvette expert in the northeast for what it's worth. In that evaluation and at that time he described the car as a 'trailer queen', 'matching #'s throughout', and would score in the '95-96 point range' with NCRS with high marks for 'paint, originality, and documentation'. I tend to agree with everything he states except 'trailer queen'. I drive the car, albeit sparingly.
I paid for Drew Papsun, respected NCRS Master Judge from Ct. to perform a pre-purchase inspection for me of the car on 12/11/11. Drew inspected the car on the ground and on the previous owners lift. The car was dusty as it was not driven much by the previous owner. He had approx. 20 collector cars that received more attention than this one. Despite it's dusty state, Drew pegged the car as a definite Second Flight as it stood during the time of the inspection, with definite Top Flight potential. Unfortunately the pre-purchase inspection was not to sift through every detail of the car to gauge it's award potential.

-Dark Saddle door handle pulls. The ones on car now are light saddle in color.
-Various receipts, title copies from some previous owners.
-1971 Original Chevrolet Corvette sales brochure.
This is an investment grade LT-1. This car WILL absolutely appreciate in value. I can easily keep it and enjoy sparingly but would rather give someone else the opportunity to enjoy her more fully. I have searched the internet and do not think you could find an LT-1 this complete, this original, this ready for NCRS judging, that runs this well, for anywhere near my price.
My price is $45,000 and firm given all the car has going for itself. I am located in southern NJ, about 35 minutes from Philadelphia, Pa. and am available for private showings upon appointment.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions via PM.

Interest has been strong. I have a small handful of offers at $40k or slightly higher. I welcome all of those interested to set up time with me to see the car in person. I welcome third party evaluators to inspect the car on your behalf as well. The car has already been evaluated twice with the last being less than two years ago before I purchased it. As noted that was performed by an NCRS judge. The car shows MUCH nicer now than when he saw it with all of the hours I've put into making it spotless. If you are serious I can share with you copies of those evaluations. Please remember that the last evaluation did include lifting the car on a four post lift and evaluating the underside. I have some pics of that from the inspector but they are not the greatest of quality photos. I can wrangle some up and forward to those interested in that as well.
Thus far I have only listed the car here on Corvetteforum. Next step is Hemmings.com where in my opinion it will really get major attention. I was hoping to sell to a forum member however as this place has been very good to me over the years and is home to some great people.
As always thank you for looking!
Ps. I noticed in one pic in my ad that shows the rear bumper close-up that there appears to be some imperfections. I can assure you there are absolutely no flaws on the chrome. That is a true mirror finish. Not sure if its glare or reflection not agreeing with my camera or what. I can re-shoot that part, or any other, if interested.

Mine also has the 4.11 rear end and close ratio M21 transmission. The driving experience and sound of a LT1 is awesome.

Beautiful Car. I have a 1972 LT1 that is identical to your 1971. Same color, etc. except mine has the dark saddle leather interior and tilt, telescoping steering wheel. I just finished a complete frame off restoration.

If I had the means to purchase this beauty I would do so regardless of weather or not it was what I was looking for. Beautiful car that has been kept the way most of us would have wanted before we bought our current cars and has the performance to back it. I would say good luck with the sale but I'd rather say Congratulations to the new owner in advance.
