Default 1968 Coupe

Comes a time when you have to give up a bunch of my toys and I have very little time to do so....I sold my warehouse.....My Safari Yellow L-88 powered Vette is one of them to be considered....see picture below....a few features is a complete new black leather interior "Al`s",..new Allens stainless 2 1/2 front to rear, and the L-88 427 is completely renewed top to bottom with less than a hundred miles and is now a 434 CI ...Chassis is original with only 28,000 miles on it....Its a hell of a Vette...and the offer I have is for 6 cars and he wants the 68 Vette as one of them....He knew better than ask for the 62 Vette....Others he wants is my 67 Camaro, the 68 Camaro, A 66 Black Riviera, My 57 Bird, and my rare Black 1957 Super 88 Olds....I am asking 50 K for the 68 Vette or best...Now mine you I am not happy about the situation, but it is a package deal and nearly all were purchased new including the 68....46 years ....The dealer installed the L-88 in it with 200 miles from new....it was a 435HP powered Vette as ordered new

Make a reasonable offer, all will be considered if reasonable

Say it isn't so - you will regret it in the end. I could never sell a beautiful car like that.

Ironcross / Wally,
That's a really fine Corvette!!
Can you tell me how that worked with the L88 -- is it stamped with the car's serial number or unstamped? Btw, where is that original 435hp engine - was it traded at the time the L88 went in? Last question, what type of gasoline is required?

Wally, sorry to see you selling off your beautiful cars. It must have been a difficult decision but I'm sure the right one for you. I am also at a point where I am considering some downsizing of the fleet. I would love that L-88 but I'm out of room and have enough to take care of. It's a terrific car

Best of luck with your sale(s) and everything else

Hi I,
I'm sorry to read this news.
It's going to be a little odd not seeing this serious looking yellow Corvette pop up in threads on occasion.
I hope things go well for you and the cars!
Regards,
Alan

Default Questions, decisions, decisions

Thanks for the encouragement to keep some toys...I hate like hell to see the Vette gone......He had the dough and was very tough to say that I needed time to look over the contract for the six cars.....I could hold the pair of 68`s for a later sale date.....

.No serial or vin number on the engine, {GM crate engine} and that was way before any NCRS organization and matching numbers BS. {replaced during May 1968} and the dealer kept the 435 engine.....

Just like any true 88, it runs best with racing gas....At 12 1/2-1 it will survive 93 premium as long as you don't jump on it hard....But it was installed when gas was available to drive it...100+ octane all over and really not expensive as compared with todays prices .the 28,000 miles was all before the gas went crazy and basically the reason It was parked for so many years......1973 to 2012....

Driven in snow back and forth to Boyne Mountain Michigan years ago....Two individuals looked it over this past week and nothing deterred there opinion One wants it with the cash and the other said its too good as he is in the business of buying, fixing and selling classic and performance cars.... the other is a exporter.....nice man however

After 35" years, the car needed a complete brake job, stainless lines, calipers and Master cylinder...Complete interior including leather seats, fuel tank, copper radiator, and renewed the L-88 top to bottom which is now a 434 L-88 and still a 12.5 engine that's now .030 over, and Allens sequencial stainless exhaust all 2 1/2....

this should be enough......
