Default FS: Documented, 1978,L82, 4 Speed, AC & 22,900 miles

Free delivery to Carlisle if purchased by August 18, 2014.

Ordered on September 21, 1977 at Baron Chevrolet in Weirton, WV this Corvette was built with the most desirable options available: Red exterior, L82, 4 speed and air conditioning. The factory options include:

A31 Power Windows (Work)

C60 Air Conditioning (Works)

L82 350CI, 220HP engine (One of 12,379)

M21 Four speed CR transmission (One of 3,385)

N37 Tilt-Telescopic Steering Column

UM2 AM/FM 8-Track Stereo (Works)

U81 Dual Rear Speakers

192 Black Leather Interior

83L Corvette Dark Blue Metallic

Since this car was ordered in September 1977 the exterior color code specified was "83 Red". Unbeknownst, to the buyer and salesman, exterior color code 83 would change to Corvette Dark Blue Metallic in 1978. In January 1978, when the new Corvette arrived to Baron Chevrolet they told the buyer two things:

1. Your new Corvette has arrived.

2. The car is blue and we will repaint it red. This was done under in January 1978 under the GM Factory Warranty.

Owner one told me that the blue paint job was of such a low caliber that the car was going to need repainted anyway before he took delivery.

History of Ownership:

Owner One: January 26, 1978 to July 11, 1990. Mileage at the the time of sale one: 13,897

Owner Two: July 11, 1990 to February 24, 2014. Mileage at the time of sale two: 22,473.

Owner Three: February 24, 2014 to Present

Non-factory items: Exhaust, Undercoating and Tires.

Repainted code 72, Corvette Red, in Jnauary 1978 & September 2001. All the numbers match on this car including the Block, Carburetor and Alternator.

Paint: The sheen and condition are great.

Interior: The factory original interior is exceptional with no rips or wear.

Undercarriage: No rust

Under hood: Factory preserved

This is a turn key car that requires no work. The power options, radio, 8-track and AC work. Further, the documentation associated with this car is one of the best I've seen. These documents include the owner(s) letters at the time the car was sold, window sticker, build sheet, 1978 Brochure, 1977 Baron Chevrolet order form and deposit receipts.

The car is located in central Illinois. Two hours West of Indianapolis and 2.5 South of Chicago.
Asking $15,400 OBO NEW PRICE $14,800

This is a turn key car that you can drive today. No need to worry about painting, replacing the interior or rebuilding the engine. These three items alone would easily add up to over $10,000.

I am open to offers (no trades).

Thanks,
George

Why are you selling it? You have put basically miles on it and only had it 4 months.

I am selling it because I could use the money. Are you interested in buying?

Thanks,
George

It was off. I replaced with an AC Delco belt after the photos were taken.

My son is looking for a C-3. I am in southern Illinois.

I wasn't being difficult, just curious about the quick turn around.

I will pass this on to him.

No problem. If you and your son want to look at it let me know. I can meet halfway if that would help.

Thanks,
George
