Default 1970 Coupe For Sale .. Great Deal

My loss will be someone's gain. I have a 1970 4-speed Monza Red coupe for sale. I am close to closing on a 2015 C7 and need to liquidate for quick cash.

I will start with the 'bad' with this car:
*Not numbers matching. While the photos 'cleaner sticker' show this as a 350/350 the stamp pad indicates it is a 327 CI engine.
* E brake not working... not an expensive fix.
* clock not working - very common in the c3's. It does tick it just falls off about 5 minutes or so per hour.
*Not much documentation on the car including info on who did the restoration (very nice restoration!!)

The Good:
*See the attached photos, they still represent this car. I have since tinted the side windows and the rear pop out window. Further, the front windshield is tinted with a clear tint to protect the perfect dash.
*Car runs very strong and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere in the US if needed. No sounds, smells or smoke. Drives perfect.
*This is a non A/C car but does have p/s and p/b.
*interior and leather seats almost perfect. There are 2 inch 'slits' on the back outside shoulder of each seat as if someone started to put in a harness but decided not to. Only visible when looking for them. A cheap fix I am sure.. Just have not bothered me enough to mess with it.
*The paint is in very good condition. Looks great from 10 inches. This is no 20 footer!!!!
*side exhaust gives great look to the car.
*Tires - still have some 'nubs' on them. Practically new, no wear shown.

The BETTER: I am very firm on $16,500. I feel this is practically giving the car away. This is firm as my dealer is allowing only a bit less for trade-in if that is the way I decide to go. Thought I would offer it up on the forum first. I don't have a lot of time and am not interested in trades or anything other then cash. If interested please PM me and I will answer any further questions.

Thanks

How about making the pictures generally available rather than just to those with Microsoft Office?

Nice car indeed. But just FYI, pics show it as having manual brakes not power brakes.

Interesting.. Truthfully I am not mechanical enough to know for sure from a pic.... Was told power and it does brake easily... But frankly would not surprise me as I was also told it had the 350 engine upon purchase...

BTW - Did not purchase from Motion Autosports .... They sold the car to a corvette specialty shop across town up there and I purchased from them on-line.

No worries, we all learn something every day. In the aerial pic of the engine, you can see the brake master cylinder is mounted directly to the firewall. With power brakes, the master cylinder would be mounted to a cylindrical 'tank' (generally black) which is mounted to the firewall. And there would be a rubber hose going from this tank to the top of the engine (generally the intake, possibly the carb).

Are you sure its a 327? Most 327s have the oil fill tube in the front of the intake.

While most HN suffixes were 327s, I think there was a '69 HN suffix for a passenger car block 350. Someone could correct me here.

Still an NOM, but better if it is a 350.

Frankly, the more I dig the more confused I get... Someone coming to inspect it for me in a day or two.. Hopefully that will shed light on what the heck it actually is.

Not yet... Prospective buyer is having it inspected today or Monday.. Sure we will have a better idea as to exactly what it is once that takes place.

Congratulations and thanks for giving the great deal to a private person rather than a GM dealer.
