Default WTS 1970 Coupe 350/300 Matching 48K miles.

SOLD! Thank you all...This is a 1970 California garage find Vette. Was stored in a garage for a quite a number of years. Not sure how long. Has spent 42 of its 44 years in California. Only 2 previous owners, first one in NY (got it undercoated, which is still very evident), then the second in CA for 42 yrs. Based on what I see I'm not sure it qualifies as a survivor.

The good...
47K miles on the odo.
Base Coupe 350/300, matching original engine, transmission and differential. Photos of markings are included.
Automatic, power steering, no A/C or PB.
Super solid, frame and body are great, no structural rust. I have included photos of the "A" pillar base that is solid with just some light surface rust.
Rally Wheels with 1979 vintage BFG T/A's that still have the nubs on the tread.
Runs and drives well.
All Gauges and ventilation controls work except the clock.
Carpet and seats were replaced a few years ago. Seats are like new.
Brakes are all new with A/C Delco calipers and master cylinder.
The radiator has been replaced, the leaky original will be included.
A box of misc original parts is also included which the owner gave me it includes the original radio.

The bad...
Needs at least suspension bushings replaced to make it a driver. Originals are badly dried and cracked.
Trans was rebuilt 10 years ago but leaks.
Door panels are cracked, dash has one small crack at the driver side speaker.
The wiper system is inoperative although the wiper door works.
The only non-OEM parts I can find are M/T Valve covers, Edelbrock intake manifold and a Carter AFB Carb, that's it. All else is stock.
The gas tank was replaced according to the previous owner.

THIS PART IS IMPORTANT! The car got a bad paint job 20 yrs ago and it shows. It was originally Cortez Silver but is now Steel Cities Gray. Don't let the pictures fool you. The paint is rough, with considerable dirt in the paint, chips and what looks like buffer burn throughs.

This solid car is a great candidate for restoration or a reso-mod and presents well as you can see from the photos.

Asking $18.5 K obo. Clear title in hand.

Please PM if interested.

I'm ccmano on CF, usually on the ZR-1 and C6 forums. Also on ZR1.net forum and Ebay with the same name.

Hi ccm,
I'd think it's probably not a good candidate to achieve a Survivor or Bowtie award since they really are for mostly untouched cars.
However, that doesn't mean this still isn't a nice car for someone to restore or play with.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan

I drive a 70 and I think these cars are one of the most collectable C3's given their numbers and last year for hi compression (Read this as performance). Looks like a good catch for someone.

Seems like a sweet. Especially if you could paint it yorself. The last of the high compression does make it more valuable.

So, you have owned the car for 42 years?

No... Thought I made that clear. 2 previous owners. I simply found the car and got it cleaned up and drivable. I have edited the ad to make that more clear.
