Default 1968 Corvette L79 convertible $35.5K - Bring Offer

1968 Corvette L79 convertible - UPDATE 11/2014 (Greensboro, NC)
We've decided to sell our car! I have brought it back to it's original glory over the last few years. We bought this car in May 2006 and it was in poor condition, and it didn't even have the engine in it! Well, I've rebuilt the engine and brought it back to being correct as it was originally. Below is a detailed, but not complete, list of some of the work done and where it is at now. We're asking $35,500.00, but please bring any reasonable offers. Thanks!
I bought this car in May 2006 as a project car. I have the original auction print-outs and documentation from the sale on eBay. I also have all receipts and photos documenting all my work since the purchase date. I've put $K's and countless man hours into the car, but we are willing to part with it for a reasonable offer. Below is a list that is as accurate and truthful as possible to my knowledge. Since purchase and throughout restoration I have only driven this car about 500 miles since the engine rebuild. Odometer shows 20,032 miles, but I'd assume it has been rolled (120,032). The tripmeter and odometer both work, but the trip reset does not.

All original, numbers matching, except for the engine block, and heads (details below).

Original option was 327ci / 350hp L79 convertible. Car came standard with no power brakes, no power steering, and no A/C. Standard black interior with Safari Yellow paint.

Trim Tag information:
M09, TRIM STD, 984 PAINT Safari Yellow with Standard Black vinyl Interior.

Engine:
Block # 25GM 3970010 4-bolt main 1969 Vette 350/350 L46 (period correct)
Pistons TRW# GM633/634 (bored) L2304 060
Heads 327 double-hump/fuelie heads, matching date codes E2170 G870 with 74cc chambers and 2.02/1.60 valves (period correct)
Federal Mogul performance Camshaft # CS-179R, Rockers # R-826, Lifters # HT-817, Pushrods # RP-3093
Carburetor Rochester-Qjet 650cfm 4-barrel (original)
Intake (original)
(engine has ~9.7:1CR)
Transmission main case casting# 3925660, side cover casting# 3884685 (number-matching original documented Muncie-22 Rock Crusher!!!)

Rear-end # 3571575 (number-matching original)
All new 'correct' wire harnesses with fiber optics, all new brake stainless steel system starting with the master cylinder to the rotors, (original) Kelsey-Hayes rally wheels with new trim rings and (original restored) GM derby caps, new Firestone Indy 500 tires, rebuilt suspension with original components blasted and powder coated with 'as-original' replacement parts including rubber bushings and all the nuts and bolts, the rear-end was cleaned powder coated and re-assembled with original spec GM lubricants, the transmission has not been re-built but shifts smooth and makes no noise, the dual exhaust is an aluminized 2-1/2" tubing coming from Hooker Comp headers and going to FlowMaster40 mufflers to the correct chrome exhaust tips, the seats have been restored with correct black basket-weave vinyl, cushions, and springs, the car was stripped and all chips/cracks in the body were repaired as needed. It was then re-primed and re-painted the correct Safari Yellow (Akzo-Nobel paint with lifetime warranty through Victory Chevrolet in Madison, NC), all dash items work to include the clock, new correct radiator hoses, heater core, fuel pump, fuel sending unit, fuel line from pump to carb (fuel lines to tank have not been replaced), new HEI mechanical tach distributor (I still have the original points distributor), 8mm high performance plug wires, I have added an electric cooling fan with thermostat to help keep the engine running cool (this fan is inside the original fan shroud and only comes on after engine shutdown on hot southern days), floor mats, and new door panels. New rocker panels (waiting on back-ordered uppers to arrive), chrome parts, new emblems, etc. are also included. 90% of the items purchased to restore this car were purchased through Volunteer Vette Products. I also have the heat shield/sound deadener and carpet for the interior, along with weather stripping, vacuum hoses, extra bulbs, spark plugs, and numerous other misc hardware/items. Upon pick-up of the vehicle you may take any/all parts associated with this car. A new car cover, from Corvette America, also comes with the car. All original window glass is still in the car.

I have all my receipts, manuals, research information, CD with photos of my work, and contacts to go with the car for the new owner. This car is about 95% complete! Install the included interior, seals, and replace a few trim items as needed and this will be a great 1-of-a-kind show car that you can drive! It's never driven in poor weather and is kept in an insulated garage. It runs and sounds great with a lot of power!

The frame is solid. I've wire-brushed everything and 'knocked' it and obtained solid 'sound' finding no rust holes or thin spots. The 'bird-cage' is in great condition as well. The only questionable piece that I was planning to leave, and just clean up, is the front bow of the convertible top frame. If anyone would like to see more photos please send me your email address I have hundreds on my PhotoBucket site, or I can email specific photos requested.

I will be glad to answer any and all questions as clearly and quickly as possible.
