Does the tach work right, I noticed on your CL ad that it is showing 3000 RPM?

Wrong car, wrong post. That is the other 1977 car located in Colorado. My tach works fine and is at 0 in all pics.

This one? Looks like 3000 to me on picture 11. Sorry if I somehow got the wrong CL listing.

Actually looks like a VERY nice car! If I had the money...

My mistake. You're right. I'll take a look. Not noticed that before.

If it is erratic it is likely the tach board. Had the same problem on a '77 L-48.

When I went to start the car, tach was on 0. Started car, tach worked fine, but when I shut car off, tach sprung up to 3000. Put key back in, one click to accessory and tack settled back to 0. Gremlins! Thanks for pointing that out. I never noticed it was doing that. Appears it settles to 0 after it sits for a while or you put the key in to start it.

$64.95 for a new tach board. Looks like an easy install.

Based on the fact that it reads right you might just be missing the tach filter. The tach board is cheap, but a PITA for a '77. The filter is very easy to access as it is bolted to the intake manifold.

I bet that's it. The guy I bought the car from replaced a manifold gasket. I will take a look this weekend.

Hope you are able to sell it soon. I like the color as I also have a '77 in that color, but mine is an L48.

Me too. At least we had a couple of warm days last week and I was able to drive it. We have snow again, so back into the garage she went.

My wife agrees with you. She really does not want me to sell it.
