Default 1968 COPO Corvette for sale

Believed to be the only one in existence in this color combination, this 3 owner 1968 COPO Corvette is extremely original and extensively documented. In the care of the fanatical original owner until 2009, this car has led a pampered as evidenced by the nearly mint condition original door panels and seat covers. The amount of documentation accompanying this car is immense, and even includes correspondence between the original owner and the factory. Very nice looking car. Is it a 300 or 350 horsepower 327? Power steering or brakes?

The car is a L79 (350hp) and the original owner was named Rickard Nixon (no joke). He owned the car from 1968-2009 and have owned the car since 2013.

I will post the trim tag as soon as I can.

Same car Im assuming....

http://www.sportscardigest.com/cars-...olet-corvette/

I saw it for sale through a high end dealer a few years ago and was tempted as that has got to be my favorite C3 color combination of all time, but I couldn't bring myself to buy something that unique and that original since I drive mine constantly and nothing I buy stays stock long Good luck with the sale.....she really is a stunning car!!

I should mention Denny Marshall (Chair of NCRS St. Louis Chapter) inspected this car for me when I purchased. I think he knows a thing or two about classic corvettes and he told me this car was very original and the interior was one of the best he's seen. His notes can be found below.

Corvette Inspection

August 3, 2013

Year 1968
Make Chevrolet
Model Corvette
Body Convertible
S/N 194678S420696
Vin tag - Authentic GM
Trim tag - Authentic GM
Mileage 54,734
Build date J-28= May-28
Color British Green Code 983
Interior, Tobacco, Vinyl Code 435

Options
L79-350 HP
Transistor Ignition
Tinted Glass
Telescopic Steering
370.Posi
Hard top
M21 Trans
Redlines
AM/FM radio

Paint and Body
Body is very nice It looks to have all GM body panels intact and original with nice fit and finish - nice paint. Some very small blemishes fish eyes. Chrome bumpers are very nice original. Original tape still on body mounts.

Motor
Casting numbers 3914678 - correct, for 68 300-350 HP Corvette
Casting date - Could not read too much grease
Engine pad reads - VIN#18S420696
Inboard side of pad reads V0522HT
V=Flint assembly 0522 = May 22nd HT=327CI - 350HP
In my opinion the stamping and pad surface looks absolutely correct.

Intake#3918903 Date E-15-8=May-15-1968 correct
Exhaust manifolds drivers side# 3872765, passenger side#3872778 - correct
Carb-not correct

Looks to be very original with some surface rust, but very solid. Driver side rear shock replaced.

Interior
Very nice original interior, carpet has been replaced. Small crack on center council.

Glass
All glass looks to be original and date coded - correct. Did not see soft top (note) some small seperation on windshield

(notes)
Jack looks correct with right date
no spare tire
repro intenna
heater has been bypassed prob leaking
no date on driver side mirror
air cleaner lid is repro
driver side rear shock has been replaced

Do you have any better photos of the interior?
That's what's special about it. I'd like to see some more of it!!

Thanks for those!

I like how the steering wheel is almost a dead-on match to the tobacco.
