Hi...A transmission shift kit makes the transmission shift quicker and firmer...it takes the pressure off of the bands of the transmission during the shift...the air conditioning is ice cold as I did not convert it to R134...it took a while to find someone with freon who was experienced, but I did...he added a fan between the radiator and condensor to put more air on the condensor when needed that made the difference...my wife rarely uses the cold level all the way to the left as the system gets that cold...I took the complete dash out so I was able to seal all of the ducts...back in 1977 I ordered a 1978 Corvette with the Silver Anniversary paint option and the Oyster interior with every posible option...I waited 7 months to get the car and finally canceled it...it did not come in because of the problems of how many Pace Cars they were going to have to make when the Dealers each wanted one...so that is why the wife bought this one...I added the side pipes because I always liked the one year option 1969 side pipes...if they were to come off you would simply have to purchase the stock rocker panels
