Default 1980 5-Speed Manual

My Corvette Days are over...

I am reluctantly selling my prized white 1980 C3 classic Corvette. It has a slightly built crate engine (with 28k miles on it), Stans Tri-Y custom headers, new Edelbrock 600cfm carb, Edelbrock hi-rise intake manifold. Brand new Magna-Flow exhaust connected to a brand new custom exhaust system. I spared no expense. Front to back, new.

5 speed. Yes, this is a 5 speed. 5 years ago I had professionally installed a brand new Tremec Viper 5 speed manual transmission with upgraded hydraulic clutch. These transmissions are $6,000. The professional install was $4,500.

The engine has a very sweet purr to it. Slight cam. sounds wonderful. Enough horsepower over those stock garbage engines.

3.73 gears. Newer tires. I installed new carpet kit & floor mats from Ecklers. New Window motors. Newer Pioneed HP stereo w/ CD and Aux input. Repained 13 years ago by Maaco. The paint is a 7.5

Suspension....

I upgrade to the VB&P Performance Kit ($2,000). Which means, it has new Bilstein shocks, New #500 front springs, new #360 rear fiberglass leaf, lowering kit. All new bushings. This is very expensive and time consuming.

The car is ready to drive across country, be a stud in AutoX or do HPDE Track days at PIR. It is already set-up.

Recent medical concerns force sale. Bummed. But I hope it goes to a good Corvette enthusiast.

I haven't been driving it much in the last 10 months. Since sitting, there is a small oil leak near the rear main seal. We can discuss that.

Gorgeous vette, the 5 speed was Not cheap but worth every penny. I have 3:73's also but I wish I had the extra gear. Does it do fairly well on MPG?

Thank you. As a matter of fact, it does ridiculously great on mpg!

On the hwy at 65 mph, the tech reads a steady 1200 rpms. I consistently get 24-29 mpg on the hwy. having that 5 gear is the absolute best thing for a C3 corvette.

New brake system was installed in 2008. Hawk Plus+ pads.

Oregon vette80.

I'm very sad to hear of your health issues.Your '80 is pretty sweet with the drive train upgrades done..Are you a member of any of the Oregon corvette clubs?.
I almost joined Mount Hood Corvette..but last feb I was unexpectedly diagnosed with a fast growing terminal glioblastoma IV brain tumor..surgery, been on rad-chemo since..So far so good .Trying to slow the regrowth down..
.
My '78 SA is done up completely...and we do drive it some ..but I'm not sure how much longer I'll be around. I take each day a bit at a time and am thankful to be able to do even simple things.
Anyhow..I hope you do find a new Corvette enthusiast-owner.
IF someone out of the area is interested...I would be glad to look over the car on their behalf.I have a great mechanic who would help also..Jim

Just wondering if the car is still for sale?
I'm interested and would have the car shipped to Utah or Montana

Moderator, look at the date on the link and craigslist ad. I think this one has found a new home already, especially at the "asking" price listed
