I am also interested in it, but I see not much chance being third in line. Although to the 2 guys ahead of me I would be willing to purchase, remove and transport the windshield if it is an original, usable LOF.
Please keep me in mind..........
Regards,
Joe

Yes, the '71 is still available. It's a friend of mine named Mark Stielow, as mentioned in the ad text. He told me yesterday he has gotten a call or two, but I saw it still on the trailer at his house yesterday evening.
He generally answers texts pretty quickly - try texting him at 586-634-8196.

Sorry I did not belong to this forum and a buddy of mine posted this for me. I'm mainly a Camaro guy and I purchased this car off Craiglist in Detroit to run in OUSCI (Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational). They just changed the rules and I don't need the need the car. I had some buddies that are "Corvette" guys look and the car and the frame and a lot of the birdcage is rusted. Seems like the car is mostly there and the engine and drive line are original.

I got the car from the widow of the original owner. It had been parked for over 20 years. The car is rough.

No one has looked at it yet and it is still for sale.

Thanks mamamia69 regarding the cracked WS. That is all I was interested in, as I am still working on my 69' project and do not need another entire car. I also really do not have time to part it out.
Just a footnote on that frame, wow I have never seen on with that much of it gone and the car still in one piece.

You and me both!

I still may take a look. This would be a really nice match to my 70 White Convertible and I would be in absolutely no hurry to finish the project. I also have a local guy would works magic on corvettes that need a birdcage. I would tackle the remainder myself.

Well I'm the Mark Stielow that has done a lot of Camaros. I shot the crap with Jeff Smith at PRI. Great guy. He has helped me a lot over the years.

I had a chance to check the engine out this weekend. I put a wrench on the harmonic balance bolt and it turned over easy. I put a battery in it and it cranks over and sounds like it has compression. All the fuel lines are dry rotted so I did not they to fire it.

I'm not sure if the car can be restored or not. It is mostly all there and I would like to get rid of it. (My wife is giving me crap about it).

I paid $4500 for it. If I can break even or get close I would like to sell it.

The frame is shot. The Bird Cage has rust. If someone wants it for parts make me an offer.

I think I need to stick to Camaros....

Thanks

Mark

To Mark Stielow, I have drooled over your Camaros. Top notch stuff, and watching you drive them like you stole them is an inspiration. Keep up the good work! Oh, and here's hoping its not too much trouble for you to get rid of the Vette.
