Default WTB 69-72 4 speed coupe project / driver to be a project

Hello,

I am looking for a 1969-1972 corvette coupe project car to driver that could be a project car in the future. It has to be a coupe and a 4 speed with a black interior. I am not as concerned with exterior color as I can paint it. I am not interested in anything in need of major body work or frame / bird cage repair. The more complete car the better, numbers matching is nice but not a must have.

I am looking to spend 8-14K depending on condition. I am located in Pittsburgh PA. I am willing to come pick up the car within a 12 hour drive.

Please send me anything you may have. Thank you Jason

If your still looking I have a 1970 coupe complete car in Georgia that I drove into my shop 8 years ago. It is now a small block nom was LS5 454 car 4 speed car. Pm me if interested - I have a 65 roadster I'm trying to complete. This car is in red primer was originally Donnybrook green with saddle interior but is now has black interior - may have been dyed? Pretty solid complete car. If you would rather call cell 706-830-3957.

I don't have a car to offer you but wanted to share a thought or two for your consideration.

I believe the best underpriced values are the automatic cars in the 69-72 time frame. Converting from an automatic to a manual is not a huge leap at all and doing it with an automatic frame is easier, in my opinion, because of the removable center cross member. My 72 racer is a Tremec TKO 600 and I went with an automatic frame for that very reason.

At your price range I think you might want to consider an automatic, and then make it a four speed at your convenience.

If it needs to be running, and drivable now, then I think your pricing might be closer to the high end of your estimate, but it is always worth a try.

Good luck with your search, I'll keep my eyes open for you as well.

Best regards,

David Howard

Thanks an original 4 speed is a must doing a conversion hurts value too much. I've done a lot of research my budget is very reasonable. Thanks for the advice.

Are you dead set on a black interior? I have a blue on blue car that I may cut loose soon.

I would possibly consider it depending on condition/ completeness.

It is a 1970 coupe, 350/350hp, 4spd, 3.36 rear, Tilt/Tele, A/C, AM/FM radio, PS, PB, factory alarm, Mulsanne Blue with Bright Blue interior. Original engine, transmission, and rear. Engine and transmission have been rebuilt. Odometer shows 103,180. I have put about 3k miles on since the rebuild. Frame is excellent, no birdcage issues that I know of. Has original paint. Needs painting and exterior chrome pieces. Interior needs door panels and seat covers, and misc. Lots of other mechanical work done and new parts, exhaust system, brakes, etc. Runs great! I am the third owner.
