Default Corvette for Sale--Lots of New Parts!

Upfor sale is a 1979 Corvette C3, with manual transmission and the higherhorsepower L-82 engine for that year.

Thiscorvette was originally a barn find by a dealer out in Lima, Ohio. Ipurchased the car from the dealer in 2012 and have been restoring allmechanical components to a fully operational condition. It starts rightup and runs great. The following things have been done so that you toocan enjoy all the fun this Corvette has to offer:

The good:
  • Brand new 4-speed T-10 transmission (not rebuilt)
  • New clutch
  • New Hurst shifter and linkage
  • New driveline components (u-joints, all three driveshafts)
  • New suspension (shocks/struts)
  • New polyurethane bushings (upper/lower control arms)
  • New brakes (pads/rotors/calipers--all four wheels)
  • New rubber brake lines
  • spark plugs/wires
  • New distributor
  • New water pump
  • All new tires (alignment complete)
  • New Hedman headers and aluminum gaskets
  • New Hooker exhaust pipes and mufflers (straight pipes, no cats)
  • New steering coupler (Flaming River)
  • Rebuilt power steering system (pump/valve)
  • New timing chain
  • New hard fuel line (from mechanical fuel pump to carb)
  • New Edelbrock carburetor
  • New polyurethane engine mounts,
  • New power brake booster (exterior appears a little rusty after only 6 months)
  • New brake master cylinder (exterior appears rusty after only 6 months)
  • Battery is about a year old, always maintained on battery tender
  • New flip-up headlight springs/restoration kit on passenger side
  • Both rear trailing arms completely rebuilt (new Timken bearings/bushings)
  • Alternator (generator) rebuilt
  • New Powermaster mini starter
  • New starter wire harness
  • New differential front mount bushing
  • New side yoke and pinion seals
  • New rubber Differential crossmember mounts
  • New steering linkage (tie rods, upper/lower ball joints, pitman arm)
  • New power steering hoses
Thenot so good:
Pleasesee pics--It needs paint. The hood has fish eyes and the rest of thepaint appears to be fading and scratched. It looks fine from 20 feet, butany closer and the paint imperfections are clear. The interior isoriginal to the car. The dash has a crack in it, and the carpet should bereplaced at some point. The steering wheel is also original, and theleather is cracked, in need of replacement. The power door locks do notwork--I've just been manually locking the doors with no problems. Equippedwith air conditioning, but it was discharged long ago. As a result, Idon't even have a belt running the air conditioning compressor, as there is nopoint. Rear bumper has cracks in the plastic above both brake lights. The front nose of the car also has paint chips as seen in the pics. A spider crack can be seen in the hood. Only the passenger sidefront and rear speakers work. No audio out of the driver's side front and rear. The passenger side front speaker grille is cracked on the dash around thegrille, so it does not sit flush on the dash. The glove compartment doorhas a slight bend in the upper right-hand corner, like someone tried to forceit open once in the past.

Informational:
Ihave removed the gas vapor canister as the charcoal inside was beyond it's lifeservice. I have installed a vapor gas cap and plugged the original vaporline. Not super-environmentally friendly, but the Corvette doesn't stinklike gas anymore either. Also, the exhaust pipes are clamped and notwelded. Original spare tire and carrier are included--I do not have themattached to the car as I consider them unnecessary weight in the back.

I am asking $9k forthe car. Pretty firm at that price--I'm actually already losing quite abit on this deal due to what I paid for the car and the cost of all the parts, but I've only driven it 600 miles since I've had it. I would like the carto go to someone who will actually drive and enjoy it. Corvette is in Fredericksburg, VA.

Car currently has 93,000 miles on it.

Lots of pictures, you can find them here:
