Default WTB 68-72 Driver

Hey guys, sold my 70 corvette roadster last year and am regretting it rather hard so I'm back in the market for a C3. This will actually be my 3rd C3 and I'm only 19. The corvette bug bit me early. I'm looking to pay under 14k but will go higher if it's a real good bargain. NOM is okay and if anyone is selling a 5 or 6 speed I'm not going to say no, I do love actually driving these things around. I'm handy enough but rather not fix up something too bad, the restoration on the last corvette was enough for me for a few years. I would prefer a roadster and I don't mind slight mods or non original parts. Located in the MA area would be nice but can travel for the right car. Cash in hand ready to go for the right car. Thanks for the help guys!

Anyone else got anything to PM to me? Craigslist isn't really impressing me.

Not sure what you are expecting but the Chicago Craigslist has a '69 convertible for $13,000. The owner says it runs good. It's black with a later front end if you are open to mods.

Try Ebay as well, you never know. Wow, only 19 and already owned 2 C3's. I just got my first and only C3 and I am an old man compared to you. Impressive.

Guess I should also have stated I really want those chrome bumpers front and back. I'm not against mods but mods that lose that just don't do it for me. Thank you for bringing that one to my attention though.

Best of luck but as you must know, buying a 68-72 convertible for under $14,000 is probably going to require some flexibility. If you could increase your budget up to $18-20K you would have better luck or at least consider a coupe. Keep searching though you never know when a car fitting your criteria will turn up.

I don't feel like it should be too hard, I don't need matching numbers and will take driver level paint quality. Last one I bought was 12000 and take a look at her in my profile pic, NOM engine but still in great shape. Has the market changed that much in 3 years?

There is a green '69 4 speed convertible on the Kansas City Craigslist. It's clear from photos that it needs paint and is a NOM asking $15.5. They would probably take less. It looks like you would have some body work to do. The speed minder is pretty cool though.

I have a 70 Coupe, 350/350hp, 4spd, 3.36 rear, PS, PB, Tilt/Tele, A/C, tinted glass, AM/FM radio, and factory alarm. When I bought it, it had been sitting 25 years. I rebuilt the engine, transmission, and most all other mechanical items. It runs and drives great. Original drive train. Still has the original paint, Mulsanne Blue, with Bright Blue interior. I put new carpet in it, but it needs seat covers and door panels, and other misc interior items. Will need painting. A well optioned car that runs great! $15K. Let me know if you have any interest.

This car is on the Chicago Craigslist. It meets all your criteria including under $14K. If this doesn't work I think you are expecting more than you can buy in this price range for a chrome bumper convertible. Good luck.

Yeah I found the listing and got some more pics and it looks like there's structural damage somewhere, don't want to deal with a bent frame or something.
