F/S 69 Vert 427/390 cracked block
I have a 1969 427/390 4speed convertible, silver ext, red int, white top, very original car 93k cert miles, that has 2 cracks in the lifter galley area of the block.
I bought this car a little over a year ago from a dealer in CT. I had a couple of people check out the car for me as I'm in New Mexico and it seemed all good, so I bought it and had it shipped. Well after driving it for awhile, I noticed oil floaters in the coolant, but no coolant in the oil. Long story short, after trips to numerous shops, the motor was removed, and after several machine shops later, they claim it can't be fixed. I have well over 30k in the car and just don't want to go any further, so I want to cut my losses and sell it as is. Car is at one shop, the motor is at a machine shop totally disassembled, so you can see it is the original motor, heads, carb, trans, the only thing not original is the intake. I would prefer a potential buyer would come and see the car or send a professional inspector. I'm looking to get $19,500 for it. I can't seem to get pics to load, so I can email them if interested.

I forgot to add, it has a 25 year old lacquer paint job, that still shows well. Trim tag numbers match (silver/red), only option is tilt wheel and am/fm (which still works), no PS/PB, good tires, new seat covers, carpet ok, original door panels have a few cracks.

If the car is nice just put a crate motor in it and be done.....Many Corvette owners including myself have done this......Besides if you look carefully enough you can pick up a used stroker motor that will most likely outperform the original motor .....
Take the damaged motor out, clean it up and leave it on an engine stand....
