How do you like the 3:70 gear in that car? Reason I ask is., I had the stock 3:36 in my 73 before it went (122,000 miles) got a great deal on a complete 3:70 unit so I had it put in.....Have a worked 350 motor with a healthy cam so it's fun in the streets but can't stand it on the highway..
How do you like yours on the highway?

72-74 speedometer vs. 75-77 speedometer.
Looks like the original speedo, or at least the speedo face (and the original mileage?) is gone.

We will probably never now, maybe speedometer broke when car was one or two years old and that's what GM put in.. They often put in later parts when cars came in for service. It does have the correct 5 digits not 6 as yours shows though.

Even though the speedometer appears to have been changed, I believe (based on what I can see of the car) that the odometer is the original one for the car.
Most likely a speedometer failure early in the car's life.
Good luck with the sale.

Very good point on the odometer. 1975-1976 also used 5 digit odometers. 1977 had the 6 digit (with the tenths of a mile added) odometer.
