For The True Corvette Lover
I don't know if anyone has posted the following but it is my list of "Must Haves".
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1979-Chevrol...m=142256561134
If the above link doesn't work go to eBay item # 142256561134.
BTW: I have no connection to this car, but if someone on the Forum buys it, I want the first ride.

Owned three real Mustangs. Wish I still had my 69 BOSS 302. It was pretty much stock....the way I like them. A Corvette shouldn't look like an 80's Stutz IMO!

The key is in the advertising: rare, custom, iconic, distinctive, "Super-Fly" (I don't even know what that means ?pimpmobile?) Ad says they built 51. Why 51?
There is a lid for every pot and there are people bidding on it.

Yes - it means pimpmobile. From my limited pimpmobile knowledge, this workshop was renowned for creating pimpmobiles in the 70s, some of them using corvette bodies BTW. I think I read somewhere that one of the pimpmobiles seen in James Bond Live & Let Die was a C2 mod with a Cadillac style body.

he is referring to the "blaxploitation" movie Super Fly. A must-see microcosm of urban late 60s-early 70s America. My father unwittingly befriended an enforcer for the Mob in the early 70s, and I got a chance as a young teen to tour Chicago with said enforcer in his white 1970 Eldorado as checked in with his "clients" (pimps). I was too immersed in the various rides I saw to fully grasp what was really going down. Naïveté can be a good thing.

Coincidentally, my early days were similar to yours. My father was a union president and had similar acquaintances. You should bid on the car. I promise not to outbid you.

The new POTUS is going to clean up Chicago, although I am not sure if he is referring to the City or the movie. Given your background, you really need this car. Admit it, you want it.
