Carroll makes a nice set-up for about $5K. Not CARB legal, but may not be an issue to you.

Yes, with full description/pricing/etc. Use your browser and search for Carroll Superchargers.

http://www.carrollsupercharging.com

For L98's the major Supercharger Kits are

Carroll (who uses paxton and vortech S/C)
ATI Procharger Kits

Paxton used to make their own kit but it was discontinued.

toddalin & dgoodhue - Thanks for your input. I visited the websites for Procharger and Carroll. The Procharger unit appears to be about $1600 less than the Carroll. Is the Carroll really that much better. Anyone have experience with either unit? Thanks again.

George - I'd appreciate it if you could get me some info from your fellow club member. I think that with my low mileage engine, and with running a low boost level, I should be able to leave everything else pretty much stock. I don't want to get radical............I'd like just a little more power. And the looks of a supercharger are great too. Bob

Mike will sell you a better system than the carrol for a $1000:00 or more less. He is a distributor for pro-charger and you can buy way less than from a dealer. If you want mild boost order the P600b with the 8lb. pulley that may sound high to you but you lose boost with the intercooler so you will have 6lbs. or so at the engine.

black bart - Thanks for the info. If I went with minimal boost (say 6#'s), other than maybe a chip, can I leave most everything else stock? I do have a non-stock exhaust on the car now.

YES with mild boost and intercooled you will not have detonation it is your enemy. FORGET THE CHIP chips advance the timing and you don't want that. The procharger kit will have everything that you will need. Several years ago I ran a procharger with 12lb. boost on a stock 350 it ran real good but I got some bad gas and broke a ring land on a piston. You should not have these isuses with the lower boost but never ever put anything but 92-93 octane gas in it.
Even with the lower boost you can fry some horse meat if you know what I mean. :D

Carroll told me that will custom burn their chip to any mods you may have or desire. And the Carrol kit uses gaseous intercooling to avoid the need for an intercooler and its pressure drop. Also the Carroll kits include such things as the kit to relocate the hood prop, an oil cooler for the S/C, new A-arm panel to clear the S/C unit, fender well modification piece, etc... a really complete kit. Not saying one is better than the other... just some observations.

If carroll makes you a chip it will retard the timing not advance it like other chips do. When he mentioned a chip I think he was talking about chips sold to boost performance on NA engines. I'm aware of gaseous intercooling I use it on my car but that is just a fancy name for water injection. But you raise a good point when comparing prices 0ne has a intercooler and the other has a 12 volt pump that sprays water. As far as hood prop with the p600 you just turn the bracket around and it works fine unless you go to the D1R I had to remove the prop converted to what the late C4 uses. You didn't mention that the carrol system uses the vortech blower impeller is cast the ATI is billet more than three times stronger. It makes no difference to me what he buys but if you talk to the people on this forum that have owned both brands and have considerable experence with blowers you will find that the carroll is considered outdated. I can give you names of several on this forum that have had both today they all have the procharger.
