c4 twin turbo kits?
#22
These guys also list a turbo kit for the 84-91 as well as the ZR1 in their "Coming Soon" category at the bottom of the page. They are light on details, so it may just be another pipe dream....

Not sure that it will fit 85-91 cars.
POLOVETTE 94, other things play into the designs, custom brackets , different type and size intercoolers....etc.
BTW, PTK is still looking for a C4 donor car to do the twin setup on. If your interested then call them at 210-657-2706, ask for Dalton and tell him Jose sent you. They are cutting the donor car owner a killer deal on the kit and its installed to boot for less then you can buy the kit once its on the market. Doesn't get better then that.
Here is a sample of their products....

Knowing what I know about the c4 engine compartment I do not believe there is any way that set up will fit a C4 too wide...and the cross over pipe would run right into the front cross brace.. That header on the driver's side might also interfere with the power steering pump as located in the stock position.

He did say they should have their kits availbale sometime in October for our cars. After speaking with him, I'm definately interested. If you guys are interested in buying my 8-rib drive and D1SC blower...they may be for sale this winter! If you call, ask for Dalton and tell him Chris sent ya!!

Sure, 1600 ponies (or 12, 9, 7, 6-hundred) sounds great, but seriously, how the F*** are you going to do anything with it aside from breaking stuff? The factory engine was rated at 300 horses (by now it'd be closer to 250 at the rear wheels with an auto trans and 140K on the clock)
now, after i stab in a forged crank, rods, low compression pistons, and balance it all to death, then MAYBE i could see this. but then again, if i'm going to buy all that stuff, why not build a 39xci stroker? Heck, a hardcore aluminium 454 small block would be pretty dandy too.
Point is, you'd have to already have a well-put-together car/engine in order for this kit to work, and they want a stock test mule. sure the kit would cost less to be the first under the axe, but it'd be a parts-breaker.

Well if I can help on some of the questions feel free to ask. As for putting this kit on a stock motor, well my question is why not. Just cause the kit is rated 1200hp doesn't mean it has to make that. You can regulate boost down to 7-9psi and have no problems. One of the LT1 F-body cars that was finished was a BONE stock 94 auto Z28. The car made 454rwhp/567rwtq at 9psi through an auto and using only a T66 p-trim.

~how/where will you mount the intercooler(s)?
~and, will you change out the accessories to allow room for the top mounted TTs? (the a/c, alt, and traction control unit are all in the way on the drivers side)

putting twin turbos on the stock engine just doesn't make sense at all to me. rebuild the bottom end for the boost so you can turn up the wick to 15 psi + to make serious power or slap a vortec on her and call it a day. you want the turbos in the "sweet spot" of the compressor map.
do it like meaney did or not at all. with street tires traction will be more of a probelm than parts breakage, the Dana 44 is pretty stout, and you can beef up a 480LE to take around 1k hp.
NONE of this is going to be cheap though.
FYI,
these guys have been working on a TT ZR1 for quite some time, but still no joy. they have lots of experience with turbo mustangs but obviously they have more room for single or TT options.
for the price of installation of a TT you can go out and buy a callaway outright, and hop her up a bit.
I may get tired of waiting and just go that route, as for now, the 505 RWHP of the stroker ZR1 has proven sufficient.

OOPS, my mistake, it was another company. I have a stock 94 LT1 auto that would be a great candidate. the turbos work great with a slushbox, and the car was a cheaper starting point.
SGC is working on a TT ZR1, and LPE did a handful as did callaway, any of the TT Vettes are pretty spectacular. the torq rush is worth the price of admission.
