Default Bosch Oil Filter

Anyone got any feedback on Bosch Filters? I wont use FRAM and
have had good experience with Purolator units. Have had trbl
finding Mobil 1 filters and wonder if the Bosch is a resonable
unit or a POS?

Thanks

The old ones were good. I read somewhere recently, that they are now made "off shore" (read Korea). not sure about the quality of the new ones.

Default Oil Filters

Not being able to get the PF35 long AC Delco filter at the parts house's here, I get them at the marine store. They have the blue AC Delco filters in the long version.
I also use K&N, and just saw an ad on the Speed channel watching NASCAR Nation, that K&N is made by Wix. Then they said that Wix is the primary supplier for NASCAR. Does that mean the race cars, or the cars that the official's drive? That one surprised me, as I used to see Wix filters used at the oil change places. I thought they were using the cheapest filters they could buy in bulk.

Wix makes a lot of filters ....one of the most highly regarded manufacturers out there. Napa Gold are Wix, I understand that at one time AC Delco were as well

So, boatman, if I understand you, you are saying that I can get a "longer" filter for my car? I am assuming that longer would result in more filter and therefore cleaner oil. Do I need to do anything to convert to this style of filter?
How much more oil does this filter take?

I use the PH5 from Fram, is the PF35 longer and does it filter better?
Bosch is very good. I have a friend that uses them on his, ummm German car.

The PF1218 AC Delco that I use is the filter that replaces the PF35. The PF1218 is a 1 qt filter and will thread right on with no adapting. You can get the PF1218 anywhere they sell AC Delco filters. Hope this helps. Tim

The PF1218 replaced the PF35 as the other forum member said, but the marine stores still call it the PF35. I don't know why.
As far as the mechanics of using a longer filter, I cannot comment on that, but I have always thought that getting more oil thru the system, and filtering more at one time, could only be better.

No, don't assume that. It only means that the larger filter, containing more of the same filtering media, will hold more particulates than a smaller filter. This is generally not an issue with Corvette owners...who seem to change oil and filters every 700-5000 miles.
