5 Laps around Bristol Motor Speedway!!
For a $10.00 donation, we got to haul a** around the high bank. It was so much fun, we went home to get the Harleys and did it again.

We did the Bristol track during the 50th Anniversary Caravan in our 2003 - my wife said she'd never go on a track with me driving again, but has since relented...gotta do it some day in the 1985.

The money went to St.Judes Cancer Hospital for kids. It was a blast. My wife rode shotgun with me in the Vette, but said NO WAY to riding her Harley! I had to do that solo. Top speed was about 75, which doesn't seem that fast, but it was plenty coming down off that bank. We weren't allowed to pass the pace car. It looks like they do this every year. St. Judes Gold Wing Club sponsers it.

I got to do the same thing at California Speedway in Fontana, although I did it in my '71 Z28. It was a total blast!
We were being paced by a 2003 Z06 and we could go as fast as we wanted as long as we didn't pass the pace car. I initially hung out at around 80-85 and my dad kept yelling, "pass that guy, pass that guy...catch the Z06!" The Vette had opened up a pretty good lead on the rest of the bunch, so I decided to floor it coming off of one of the turns to see if I could catch him. Coming down the bank with that solid lifter LT-1 screeming at 6500 rpm was incredible! We caught up to the pace car half way through the next turn. I can't even remember how fast we were going because I was so focused on the track I didn't really look down at the speedometer. My dad said we broke 100 coming off the first turn, but he wasn't sure what we ended up doing. I'm guessing maybe 120.
Man, just thinking about it puts a huge grin on my face.
