Default new c4 owner in memory of my father

i had this story in general disc a while back but i thought it would be good to post here on c4. I lost my father on jan 2 06 from cancer he was 58. i have always been into cars and so has my father. he has had 3 new corvette's a 80 78 85. When him and my mother were married he drove away from the wedding in a 69 charger and when i was married this year i drove my 68 charger just like him. i will post a pic of the wedding my father is behind me in the pic with the beard. Well my father had a 80 corvette he sold to someone here in town. a few weeks ago the guy who bought the car from him ask me if i wanted to buy it and i said yes. He said it was nice and i went to look at it was junk it needed paint every vacuum line was cracked and the motor was skipping the seats were torn and it just looked awful. then i thought he would ask me 4000 for it but he instead ask me 11000 dollars for it and i almost passed out. i did not buy it but posted on another forum looking for a red c4 corvette like the 85 my father had. i ended up buying a red 92 6 speed and i feel like when i drive it my father is sitting beside me and even though i am a mopar man i love the car.

Welcome, and sorry for the loss of your Dad. I'm sure his spirit will ride shotgun with you anytime in the Vette.

Sorry about your father but I'm sure he's pleased with your tribute to him. Hey, there's no law that says you can't be a Mopar and a Vette nut. I had quite a few of the old, great Mopars over the years. My son, who will soon be 30, took his first ride coming home from the hospital in the big block '67 Charger I had then. I'd love to still have that one!

Congrats on doing something that you feel honors the memory of your dad. Enjoy the car, and the memories you make with it.

Though i dont like mopars, i am a vette man, and i like mustangs. no harm in linking two different makes.

Sorry about your dad. You are honoring him and his spirit. I am more than sure and as a matter of fact my dad and your dad are now driving brand new c6s with 505hp and never needing gas upstairs.

So sorry for your loss. This one hits close to home for me.I lost my Dad in december.I have his name on a plaque on the dash of my 85 race car. He wasn't a car guy but he always wanted to know how I did at the track(Now He's there to see it so I can't sugar coat it anymore). As far as the Mopars go I still have a 440 car sitting in the garage,I think you'll find a lot of vette guys that have Moopar roots..
