Default What is the center cap in the rim called.

Just realized one of the center caps ( the small cover in the center of the rims ) is discolored. What is the exact name of this, I'm looking on ebay and not sure of the term.

I think they're called center caps, aren't they?

Either that or "central circular wheel hole fillers"

Center Cap is the name of it. I do not think there are names to any particular center cap.You just have to go into Ebay and do a search for Center Caps with the make of your vehicle and just start looking. Not to many sold individually though.

I'm not sure, I did a search on ebay and came up with nothing. Just want to be sure the term was correct. Do you need to pull off the wheel to remove them?

Let's go with 'center cap' until we come up with a better name.

I'm going to say yes - I've only ever taken mine off when the wheel is off... you can't really sneak a fingernail in there at the edge to pop it off, and you sure don't want to try using a screwdriver Someone may have a suggestion on how to get it off without removing the wheel..?

I did a search on ebay using: Corvette +center
I got a few hits for the adhesive C4 emblems, if that is what you are looking for.

I don't know if you have to remove the wheel to take off the center (my car is an 89) . If here is a little cap that snaps in there to cover the center, then I would think it would be easier to take off the wheel before trying to remove the cap/emblem.

I bought two sets on ebay under Corvette center caps. One set blew big time and the other the guy took off with a screw driver. They looked good but I had to tap them back into shape with a hammer. I paid about $25 a set. One cap costs $32 to $38 new at Arts Corvette or Ecklers. They don't come up too often on ebay and you have to make sure they fit your wheels because different years have different diameters. I think you have to pull the wheels to get them out or bust them out if your putting in new ones, after all, they're only plastic.

If you do ebay search for corvette wheels they should pop-up. Vette2vette.com is also good salvage yard if you want used. I would bet the painting was done by previous owner and if that is the problem you might just need to get some paint work done. Nice looking ride you have there.

Thanks, I'll get a price. I'm I had the wheels balanced last week. I should have thought of this two weeks ago.
