Al Knoch Seat Cover Question
I am in the process if installing a set of Al Knoch seat covers on new foam that was not purchased from Al Knoch.
These are 92 Sport seats and the backs fit perfectly but the bottoms have a lot of excess in the bolster area.
Has anyone ever installed Al's covers on their existing foam without any fitment issues, or on new foam without any fitment issues?
I'm thinking I may need Al Knoch's bottom seat foam to make these fit.
Any comments or suggestions will be helpful.

Brian,
I did not do my own, I had Al Knoch's people recover the seats in Texas, but I requested new foam for the seat bottoms, but not backs, since I thought the backs were ok. However, now they have developed some loosness in the upper right bolster on the drivers seat. I think had I gone with new foam all the way around it would have been better. So to answer your question. You might order the foam and have it shipped quickly, or visit an upholstery shop or womwhere that sells this foam and try to hand trim pieces to fill in the low spots.

I did not use Al's seat covers--I bought mine from another source. I used the old seat foam. The covers were a little loose in areas, so I used "batting" material to fill in the areas needing help. My wife uses this stuff when she makes quilts, fills pillows, etc. The seats turned out great, and feel and look like new.

Also, there are different qualities of foam. The thick dense foam costs more to make. The soft 'cotton candy' type foam is the cheap stuff.
I got Knoch's seats and he uses the good stuff.

I gotta tell you guys ... I personally talked to Al Knoch this afternoon. All I can say is this guy gives FIRST RATE service. I can see why he has such an outstanding reputation.
After a brief conversation he told me to send him the covers and the foam I purchased elsewhere and he would mount the covers for me. He didn't mention being paid ... but I fully intend to pay him for the work he does for me.
It doesn't get any better then this!!!

I am going to order new seat covers for my car from Al Knoch, and I spoke to customer service about getting them put on at Corvettes at Carlisle, they said they would put them on free of charge. Amazing people!

Bought my sport seat covers on foam from Al Knoch, custom two toned, and had then installed by a local installer. He was familiar with Al's products and highly praised them

Replaced our CE seats with Al's ourselves..hardest part was unbolting the seats. Can't say enough about them.

Do your CE seat covers have the factory perforations?
I can't tell by looking at the pictures.
BTW, your seats look awesome!

Yes, they are exactly like the factory. Maybe this will help...
