Saw that too. I'm letting my subscription expire. I don't think it's that great of a magazine. I've subcribed to CF magazine, Vette, Keep"n Track of Vettes over the past 20 years. I've learned much more on this forum in the past few years about my cars than any of these magazines.

They're good for pictures. If they really put good tech in there it'd go over the heads of most of their readership anyways. I'm sure most of them don't use the forum.

Instant feedback on mistakes and inaccuracies...that's what ya get on this forum. With a print mag you'll be lucky to find a "we're sorry" blurb anywhere in the first 15 pages. They might even print the article in the next 4-6 issues, if you're willing to wait.

I just picked up that magazine a couple of days ago and it had the article in it. It was the reason I bought it. I've read more information on here how to upgrade the brakes than that artcle did though...but it still wasn't a bad read. On the cover it has a 78 vette with almost 400,000 miles right?

Corvette Fever seems to have a number of errors in their articles lately, not just missing ones altogether. Whoever the idiots are that do the final proofread and approve the cover need to head right over to the unemployment line.
Read the oinline article that CJB posted and it really doesn't have a lot of technical stuff there. It's a simple write up on the VB&P C5 brake package and install which is not that hard to do. I have seen a lot more information in C4 Tech than what was published in that article.
The article states that you can buy the "kit" for under $1K. Is that a realistic price?? The article doesn't specifically mention the front and rears for that price.
The new VBP catalog shows a front conversion kit for a "just reduced" price at under $800 but shows the complete front and rear kit as selling for $1400 less shipping. It looks like you could buy C5 rotors and calipers, some Hawk pads and lines from other sources, and get the attaching brackets separately.
It takes a couple of months to get a mag to press and I bet that a future issue won't have any mention of not having the brake article in the September issue.
And why do they publish a monthly issue that is labeled as over two months ahead of time? Why is there a September issue that shows up in mid-July?

They're using 60-0 stopping distance to quantify brake performance? That sounds like something consumer reports would do. Reading that made me dumber. These guys need a beat down.

Actually, I'm happy with the braking performance with my 87 using stock diameter rotors and Hawk HP+ pads for both autocross and track days.
I have run a number of track days using cheap "white box" rotors, stock calipers, Earl's braided lines, Ford Motorsports HD fluid and don't have any ireal ssues with braking using this setup. It may not be race quality but it gets the job done.
I replace the rotors often but generic stock rotors are cheap as I get them at cost where I work.

C4 Brake Upgrade Article MIA
I was thinking about doing an upgrade of the brakes on my C4, so when I got the new issue I was psyched. After going through the mag 4 times I was pissed. I emailed Corvette Fever about the missing article the other day, but haven't received a reply yet.
