1986 copper bronze metallic ???
I have researched that in 1986 only 4 Copper Bronze metallic cars were produced making it the smallest color run for a vette in a year...I think I may have one. It was a special order car with lots of upgrades etc...the color looks like a copper penny...especially in bright light...next to a burgundy car you can sure see the difference...how do I go about documenting the original color and specs for the car...does Chevy have a way of knowing from the vin number?
thanks....and if I do have one how much does that affect the value of the car...?right now it is in Good to Vg condition and garaged with about 40K miles on the engine...its all original with age wear and no restorations.
thanks

find your RPO's
On the back, you have 2 small boxes that open, in the one behind the driver's seat, you have a sticker with three letters codes. In that, you'll have your color codes also. And in the forum, go in the RPO FAQ to see what color you have and the options.
Tell me what you find, I'm curious.

You're looking for a color code of 66. Interior was either Graphite 12C if cloth, 122 if leather, or Saddle, 62C if cloth, 622 if leather.
Not the smallest color run for a year, but close. Other rare colors were black in 1954 (4), Corvette Copper 1955 (15), Corvette Chartreuse 1977 (1), Bright Blue Metallic in 1981 (1), Primer 1981 (1), Dark Orange 1988 (5), Yellow 1989 (8), Navy Blue Metallic 1998 (14) and Aztec Gold 1988 (15).
Remember rare does not necessarily equate to desirable, and therefore valuable. Probably a cool color nonetheless. Post pics.

Here is a pic of a copper 87 of which 52 were produced.
1986, 1987 and 1994 were the only years that code 66 was used.
Here's another but cannot tell if an 86 or 87.

Thanks for all the info...and especially the pics....of the two the first one is almost a dead on for mine...but like I said the light really plays with the color...in bright lights is more of the brownish copper and in like bright parking lights it has that copper penny color.... on cloudy days it almost looks like a burgundy...I will download some of my pics and let you vote...haha...I found the code for the saddle leather seats but no color code...no 66 but also no other one...I will take a pic of of the additions and specs for the car...and see if I just missed it...
thanks
