Default Sound difference, LT4 vs LT1

I was wondering as the LT4 had a different camshaft than the LT1, does it sound any different than a LT1?
( I have never heard a LT4, since there a NON here in Denmark, yet..)

Any sound clips of stock LT1 and LT4?,or some with Corsa exhausts to compare?

OR any real life experience

I think - w/ the stock exhaust - the LT1 & LT4 will sound basically the same. The LT4 exhaust does have an h-pipe which may effect the exhaust note a tad and the idle between the two may differ slightly because of the cam etc...

Here's an old clip of my stock (at the time) LT4 w/ only the addition of the Magnaflow exhaust: LT4 exhaust

I guess you'll just have to wait until your GS arrives.

Lars,

Any way you look at it, once you add a nice aftermarket exhaust to your GS, it's gonna sound (how do we say in America? oh yeah..) BADASS!

Enjoy,
Jeff

Couldn't resist:

brum brum

I think they sound different from clips I've heard - higher compression is a factor too.. a lot depends on mods too..

All corvettes sound aswesome as far as I'm concerned - you can't argue with 5.7litres!!

cheers

A little bit IMO...

I had both versions of 96 cars and replaced the crappy Dynomax exhaust on my LT1 car with a stock LT4 system before getting rid of it...

The H-pipe in the rear seemed to make the LT1 much quieter, so much that my 94 Cadillac Eldorado was louder at idle...

Hey Lars,
are you getting an LT4 car??????

If so, congrats.

I hope that you save your wheels and put them on the new car as those are some of the sweetest wheels that I have ever seen.

Cheers,
Larry
