why do some l98s have black valve covers and some have that aluminum color, the ones in the diffrent year vetes?

looks like a mini ram intake on the black valve cover shots? Note the distributer cap height in comparison...

You can get them at Corvette Central. If I remember correctly they have all the different stock ones. The retainers attach to the head not the valve covers.

I'll check Corvette Central. I also intend to place the front on jack stands and remove the front wheels. This will give me more access to the injectors and more.
