Default SLP cold air induction

Before I purchase this, I was hoping to get some feed back on it. Is the SLP cold air induction worth the money? or am I better off sticking with what came with my stock 95.

It does nothing for an L98 except clean up the engine bay.
It does nothing for an LT1 except clean up the engine bay.

Actually, I hear there is a SLIGHT gain for LT1's so not ALL is lost, but certainly NOT worth the money unless you find a nice used one. Don't be expecting anything major to happen. If you are looking for performance gains, just cut your lid open and be done with it. That's free.

I found an exceptionally good deal on a used one on that auction site - wouldn't pay full price for one.

I purchased mine used on Ebay. It was $100. and came with three new K & N filters. It looks great but does nothing for performance.

Save your money on something that works. Speaking of money, I clean the filters a couple of times a year, so that saves money but thats about it.

I think the Ram Air thing was always a little hyped. I remember on my 79 TA making my own set up. I used two 4 inch hoses directly into the air cleaner from underneath the front of the car along with a free flow exhaust system. I picked up less than half a second at the track, and im willing to bet it was the exhaust system more than the air going into the carb. If I remember correctly wasnt Pontiacs larger ram Air GTO engine only rated 10 more horsepower than the non Ram Air version?

Its not even a cold air induction, it gets air from the stock location on 95. The surface area of those 3 filters is about the same as the stock air filter.

I say they are a waste of money, and yes I have the real CAI one on my 86.
