Cool...I just removed my door panel to work on replacing the window stop and noticed the exact same thing with the plastic on my panel. Now I know exactly how I'm going to fix it! Thanks for the tip!

As like so many others I'm having the same problem on my 94. I'm thinking you should have made at least one more as a pattern and maybe even made a few bucks on the side.

That's the way to do it. Clean and smooth edges. I'll take a set.

The top plastic piece of my door panel (84) where the inner door seal is stapled into was broken when I replaced the inner door seal. I lost about 6 inches from the end. After stumbling upon this post, I plan on grabbing some flashing and super glue to fix it tomorrow. Thanks for the post, wish me luck!

Doing this as well; my question is what was used to drill the holes? Tried to use a 3/8" drill, but of course the drill was too large to get close enough to the ribs for a straight shot.

What did you guys use?

Default door fix

So my 94 drivers sides has the same problem. I have the brackets made up and I'm ready to go. But I'm waiting for a nice sunny day here in Michigan. My plan is to have the door panel sit outside to get nice and warm and pliable. Then I will use vise gripes to pinch the plastic web between the 2 brackets. Then drill, rivot and epoxy everything together.

Thank you so much for this idea. It truely is the only way to correct the C4 drooping door.

Please put me on your list, too. I need to repair the driver's side door panel on my '92 and was considering LouisvilleLT4's previous repair tip using nylon zip ties.

Here's the link, but the results appear to be a mixed-bag, turkey shoot. Worked for some, but not all....

I have installed the metal brackets and now the zip ties with the same results--I now am going to pop rivet a peice of metal to the door and place a screw thru the panel into the plate. If in the future I hit the lottery I will spend the 500. for a new panel. Funny I just purchased a complete interior for my Camaro for 1200. that include 4 door panels head liner ,seat covers ,rugs and also a dash panel. Crazy what the vette parts cost.

I don't know if I'd take a chance on one sight unseen, but you can buy a used door panel for $185 bones from Taber's Corvette Parts.

New ones run $429.00.
