Default Forced Air Induction

Anyone have this on their '93 up Vette? Does it work? Do you have to take bodywork off to install it?

Default Theres Cheaper and Nicer Setups

I just installed my vortex rammer intake it was 300 shipped and is a cold air kit that you cut ur radiator shroud to get 2. Way more effective aswell. But whatever floats your boat that ram air kit works great and looks great take the front plate off cut some stirofoam and you got a badass looking intake i would paint that inlet 2 match b4 hand.

Wow is the price on that silly!

You don't remove anything but the license plate, then you have to enlargen that opening. After that you cut out the crash crate material, and hole saw through the fibre.

You can just make a scoop or buy one and save hundreds. Just bend a stock air lid down into a scoop for air through the license plate opening.

$500 for a flex hose and some plastic

I am in the wrong business

IMHO there is much more bang for the buck to be had for $500.

If I could make & sell something like that. Just one month would make a house payment......

I'm sure this frontal scoop would suck up every bug and small animal within it's view. Then pack the air filter full every few miles. I still think it looks cool.

Man I have looked at the air filter on my car and for the life of me, I can't figure out where it's taking it's air from. The top of the box is gone from what I've seen of other C4's of similar years. Just the big rectangle K&N-like filter is exposed. I've taken the filter off and looked at the lower housing, it looks restrictive where it passes over the radiator support. It's wide, but only about an inch tall or less. Anyway, the front or top of the filter. There's a seal on the hood that seals off engine-side air. So....where does the flow of air come from? I looked at yer Vortex Rammer and it looks like the flow of air is reversed from stock. Is this correct?

I have a 1990 Vert and that exact same kit was already on my car when I bought it. The front grate was painted to match the body color.

I like it, even though it costs more then a tank of gas.... Looks like you have to do some metal cutting on the upper radiator support? There's no question the inlet is drawing in cold air with this system. I see no other way of directing air to the air filter short of cutting. Stealing air from the radiator isn't the answer. I just talked with a guy that has a '08 ZO6 with a popular ram air system. He said it's taking too much air away from the radiator and affecting cooling.

Thank you rickreeves1 and trulytex for posting the pics. Nice cars both. I want to do this to my car but the cutting part has me worried.
