No Cats, True Duals now what Muffler???
Recently Pulled Cats off and put true duals on. I used to run with no mufflers, but now with the cats gone it is too loud. I added cherry bombs and it is still not the sound I was looking for. What muffler do you recommend? I've seen clips of Borla, Corsa, Magnaflow etc but not sure how they would sound without the cats and true Duals. Let me know what set up you have and your opinions please. Thanks!

PM SCCAVETTE here on the Forum. He has some small shorty mufflers on his ride and they sound very muscular and are quieter than straight pipes.

I just added a pair of DynoMax Ultra-Flow Race mufflers that I got from Summit Racing Linky. My 87 has true duals with no cats and factory tube manifolds. I had an old muffler come apart internally so I needed new mufflers.
These are advertised as "race" mufflers but they are actually pretty quiet at idle and cruise speeds even on the highway. At WOT they are loud but nothing like Flowmaster 40's.

Anyone hear a Corsa with no cats and true duals? thanks for all the suggestions so far. I want a performance sound not a loud straight pipe old truck sound that I currently have with the cherry bombs.

Mufflers for true duals, no cats.
I have Magnaflow 8"x5"x24" , 2.5" center straight-in straight-out polished stainless steel mufflers on chambered 2.5" pipes and stock headers. WOW! she sounds good. Only problem is drone inside at low RPM around town. Sounds great if you keep it over 17 hundred RPM.
I think an "H" pipe connecting the 2 sides may help eliminate the drone.

No drone at all. At cruising speeds (below 2 500 rpm) the loudest thing is the road noise coming from tires. After 2 500 rpm the exhaust will be the loudest thing. Sounds pretty sweet.

I have a similar setup. LT's and straight pipes with no cats. I'm considering the dynomax bullet race mufflers or warlock mufflers. I've heard the dynomax may not reduce the sound much. The bullets are $80 for the pair and the warlocks are $160. I don't want to add too much weight either. I still havent decided. I really need to reduce the sound cruising through neighborhoods but I'm also addicted to the WOT sound of the open pipes.
