Here's some pics, straight from the car wash. (With tire shine)

And the driver's seat with the new seat back.

Wow! Looks very sharp! Love two-tone bronze, I don't know why.

Hey, you're making progress. Glad to see it found a good home. Too many 84's are meeting the end of the road these days. Kudos for saving one.

I'm a little surprised at how well it did clean up. I know it needs work but looks like your starting off with a good car, so you have foundation to build on. I love seeing guys take these cars and bringing them back to life, so my hats off to you my friend. keep us updated with your progress and hope it goes well for you as bring another vette back from the brink.

It's looking good! The engine compartment came out very nice, what cleaner did you use on it?

I took it to my local car wash and used a power-sprayer on it. I sprayed the heck out of everything but the distributor.

No, I picked it up right here in the C4 parts section. It seems that things you need become available at just the right time. (sometimes)

Default We Have Dash!... Repeat... We Have Dash!

I've been slow, getting this car back to it's rightful glory, but today I have the dash working again.

There are some missing segments, but after 6 months of darkness, who cares? (I will try to get it perfect later )

I took it all apart and cleaned it out. I found that all 4 bulbs were burned out. Also, that 3 solder joints on the connector pins looked broken. So I re-soldered the pins and replaced the 882 bulbs with 194s. Bought 4 - 1/2" dash sockets at AutoZone and 4 new 194 bulbs. (May not be as bright, but a heck of a lot cheaper)

As for the dark segments on the speedo, I cleaned the pink rubber pads and the brass contacts on the pc board, but didn't clean between the pads and the glass since they were stuck to it. (If anyone knows if that has a chance of fixing it, please say so. I can pull apart again before all of the trim goes back on.)
