Looking for pics of black vettes with ghost flames
Hey all, Im getting ready to start painting my vert. One of the colors im considering is black with ghost flames. Any one got any pics? I would like to see some before I go buy my paint tomorrow.
If I do it this way, I will float blue pearl in the clear for the ghost flames.
Thanks,
Corvette Mike

I aint no purist
Maybe I will get some respect around here now with my truck/tractor L98. Maybe no will recognise it as a c4 if I do custom paint color/colors.

I think the brandywine with gold base would be the "BOMB" Mike I think it would go with your vert top really nice.
What is the plans for the interior? I know you mentioned awhile back you didn't like the wood grain dash. The C4 that has been shown here a few times with the leather would be nice -- would think you could do just the ones with the wood trim and it would make a heck of a difference.
If you can post pics of the progress I think all of us would love to see it through the stages. If I lived 1500 miles closer I would try to help ya' - I am told I am a fair "tool bitch"

My interior is nice. I have purchased some beautiful sheepskins, for the seats. Im leaving my Mid america laminate dash in now.

Geez Mike your Vette embarrasses mine and you want to paint it. As nice as it looks perhaps you can keep her and get a Black one. Maybe I can find one your'e looking for and ship it back to you. Let me know. I just hate to see such a pretty paint job like yours get covered up.

Hey Mike, I was going to do ghost flames on my car but the guys doing the paint talked me out of it. I've regretted it ever since. Also, Ottawabarber is a good "tool bitch" ask him about some of the new words he learned while we were working on his car.

vette
I decided to go black with the blue pearl ghost flames. Brandywine looks good too, but im burned out on my vette being red.
I went to my DuPont jobber today, and they have left my city.
There is a new paint store there now. So I bought my supplies from them. Im going to miss Dupont paint big time.
Here is what I bought today. The Hi build black primer, black base and the clear. I also got some catalized putty. Bill came to 380 bucks. My price with my discount. Thats one reason getting your car painted costs so much.
This container of blue pearl I have already used on a bunch of cars and bikes. This little jar holds enough pearl to do like 10 cars.
Im still waiting for my new vert top to arrive. I want to put the top on first before I paint. I just got my new weatherstripping. Its going to be fun. Its always more enjoyable when I paint my own cars instead of someone else's

Great choice Mike. Please keep us up to date with pictures if possible. Wish I were there to help and smell the colors going on. Boy I know what you will be doing late at night once you start. If your'e like me you just won't stop until the goings are done.

How about Steel Blue with these ghost flames. I bought the car for $5500 on ebay to use as my donor car for my Morrison #99 restoration, since it's a ZF car. I started driving it and now can't bring myself to rip it apart. Go figure.
