Default 305/25/20 on a C4?

Anyone running 305/25/20's on their C4? I have a 94 coupe, going with Ruff Racing 281's. Was curious if anyone had this size for their rear tires....going with a 275/30/19 up front.

Tire guys have told me it should work, but wanted the expert opinion of you folks out here...

Thanks!

They may work but I'm not sure about the look.

Wow..that pic is hideous.....Ruff Racing only makes a 19 front, and 20 rear combo for the C4. Looks good on C5's and C6's? Anyone see a Ruff Racing setup on a C4?

OH, SNAP! Is that a real car or is that a Hot-Wheels car photoshoped in front of that house?

I'm betting it was chopped, or at least I hope it was

Those have to be 24" wheels or bigger on that Vette in the picture. It really does look wacky.

They run the 20" rear and 19" fronts on a ton of C5 and C6 Vettes with the Ruff Racing wheels. So if they look good on those, why wouldn't they work on a C4? I really appreciate everyone's suggestions, and it's not cheap and I've been looking for a long time at wheels / tires...want to make sure I am making the right decision....

Keep the comments coming, appreciate the advice!

With a 20" there is a good chance you will have issues with rubbing. 19's would probably have issues rubbing as well. If you ever see a c4 with those size rims, they look to big for the car. You are comparing C4 to C5s and C6s. The C5 and C6 both are larger cars, probably have the room to put a larger rim under there. Dont forget back in early 90s a 18 Inch rim was huge compared to what was offered on a stock car, nowadays they offer larger rims.

I'm pretty sure those are 22's. Someone posted that pic before. I think 19/20 combo is pushing it, but it won't be horrible. If the car isn't lowered any, you should only have minimal rubbing...who needs that plastic lining anyway.

20's are too big, and they will allow you almost no side wall, so if you do any sport driving, or city driving with pot holes, you won't anymore.

I go to school in downtown Flint,MI. There are two C4s with 20+ wheels on them I see regularly and it looks just awful! I doubt this was photoshoped.

To give you an idea, I had a flat tire the day before an auto-x event a couple years ago and borrowed some rubber off my BMW. This is what it looked like with 19s in the rear:

I didnt care for it but I was desperate for tires.

Actually the overall diameter of a 305-25-R20 is 26", essentially the same as the OEM tires.

I agree the reduction in side wall is not good for street driving....

plus I don't think it will perform all that well with the stock suspension

would not be good IMHO, but everyone is different

The picture I presented came off of the forum. It is not of my originality.

Just curious, what year, tire/wheel combo from the BMW? Any clearance issues. Those rears look pretty good back there. JMO
