Clarion NX409 in a C4 … anyone have this (or similar)?
I’m thinking about the Clarion NX409

Has anyone installed this in an early C4? (I have a 1985.) Your thoughts on either the unit or the install would be appreciated.
TIA,

Don't cut factory metal and molding for a radio since there are so many that will fit without cutting into your Corvette. JMO. Your car so cut away if that's what you want to do. You wouldn't be the first, or last. Good luck with whatever install you decide on.

To SFC: Give him a PM and he'll be glad to let you know what it took to get his unit into his dash.

Thanks guys. My bad ... for some reason when I searched for HUs that fit my 85, this came up (I thought). I am looking for something that fits the opening. I don't want to cut up the dash

Sorry read the C4 title but didn't pay attention that you have an '85. My '90 is double-DIN but my '87 was too (at least that's what I remember from back in '87). I did install a single DIN Clarion in my '87 (in about 1995) to replace the Bose and it was a very easy installation. It sounded great although asthetically it didn't blend well with the dash.
