Just blew heater core

There's 3-4 different writeups that you can find searching the board. Some have been posted with links from one of the Corvette magazines, some from the Corvette repair manual, and some from members that have some real good pics.
From what I've read the earlier C4's are easier to do than the later C4's.

When I did the heater core in my '85, I followed a post by Ron'sRed88 on removing the heater core. The easiest (if there is such a thing) way to remove it is to remove the passenger seat and work from the bottom. I did the job in two nights after work. It's not difficult, just tedious. Don't get discouraged, you can do it. Make sure you get a AC Delco core as a replacement.

The first thing I'd do is drain the coolant and pull the heater hoses off the core. Then run straight water into the core to flush out all the coolant. Then take some compressed air to try and blow the water out of the core.
This will help to prevent coolant getting on the carpet when you pull the core. I'd still lay some plastic down anyways.
