blinker/high beam/ windshield wiper switch ?
How hard is it to replace this lever. I think I may have bumped it getting out because now it just flaps in the breeze and I can't turn on my highbeams anymore. Do I have to take the steering wheel off to get access to replace this lever.

I only broke the lever..... I've seen them in midamerica Motorsports for 60 bucks.... my blinkers work my wipers work just my highbeams won't because the piece that extends further into the column broke off

Question that is related, my wipers come on but don't want to turn off. The switch works fine (clicks on and off) but wipers keep wiping until I turn the car off. Any ideas, could this be the lever also?

It's called the "multifunction switch" and failure is a matter of time. You'll need to pull the steering wheel and the column down to the ignition switch. I may have some pictures around here, somewhere.....

There are some good YouTube's on GM steering column repair but once you get past the air bag ( if you have one ) it's real easy to replace that switch. I just rebuilt my column because when I bought it the tilt was worn out so I became infinitely familiar with every part of the column. The REAL pain is keeping the high beam sliding piece in place, I found that using moly lube grease ( stick grease ) did the trick.

I just bought one from kvette89. He said the GM turn signal lever applicable for a 1994 through 1996, is GM part# 2514054. Here is a picture he sent me. I hope this helps.

The manual says it can be done without removing the wheel. You do it all by removing the small plastic cover behind the switch housing, it just snaps in and out if you squeeze it a little.

blinker/high beam lever
romankrzy is correct.I did mine about 2 months ago. You squeeze the bottom trim together to get it off, then the lever itself is about a quarter turn, to get it out then you have to unplug the blue connector and replug the new on in and replace the lever in the reverrse order and trim cover. brent317,,, hope this helps.

I am starting to wonder if the multi switch is even broken. .... because it was a plastic piece that snapped off and it looks like it plugs into some plastic luster of pieces.

+1 I bumped mine about a week ago possibly cracking the plastic surround for the stalk and now it's loose and I have no high beams. And my turn signals are on the fritz but my emergency signal is fine. Gonna attempt to look at it see what I'm dealing with tomorrow.

I brought it to the mechanic today and its not the muli-function switch..... its way worse than that..... my steering column needs to be rebuilt. The plastic arm that connects the actuator to the lever snapped so that's why the highbeams do not work and he said my tilt steering is showing early signs of it needing a rebuild and that's probably why it broke

Don't know about your column, but the lever connects to the signal switch. A new switch is around $30.. To get at it you need a lock plate depressor, about $25. at Autozone. Get hold of a 5/16-18 setscrew to hold your tele in place while you use the depressor and you are in. That might save you some $.
