Default Route 66 cruise with our club

Saturday we had 12 cars take a nice slow cruise up the old mother road, Route 66 from Towanda Illinois to Gardner Illinois. We had a blast, and the weather was overcast and cool - great day for the tops down with out HOT and HUMID weather that we have been getting for some time here in the midwest.

We stopped at a restored gas station in Odell and took some photos - also one of me on the road with the emblem (dang my legs are white ) We also went to the wonderful museum in Pontiac Illinois and some other stops along the way. The one in my car was taken on the back of the museum, made a great photo shot for all of our members and their cars. It was a really fun day for a drive in the cars.

Hope you enjoy the picture of the cars - the one of me, well not so much

Only thing I don't like about the pix is that one sign in the background - "SPEED LIMIT 30"

Cool Pictures. I visited one of the many Rout 66 museums in Oklahoma.

Here is one by Amboy, CA

that's a good one - in that little town, 30 is needed otherwise you would miss it. The town actually is just recovering from the tornado that ripped throught there last month.

I take it the tornado did not obey the "30 MPH" sign!

And yeah, I like the "fixed" version better!

Hopefully this link will work for a whole bunch of photos if anyone is interested further. The Route 66 museum in Pontiac also features a large amount of military history on one of the 3 floors of displays. It would take hours and hours to see this whole museum. Very nice!!
