Cats and Car covers
So now that my new to me Corvette is safely at home, our outside cats love it. They seem to really enjoy sleeping in all the curves, the roof, and hanging over the tail lights.
I have a car cover on order. I went out tonight and covered it with blankets/towels. Within minutes one of them was lying on it.
It's not so much their dirty little paws that worry me. It's the claws that they extend when they jump up on the slippery surface.
Do you think that a car cover alone will be good enough to keep the claws out of the paint? I'm considering something to put over or under the cover to beef it up. Like some kind of soft fabric under the cover that won't scuff the car, then maybe a tarp on top.

too much!!
I noticed the cat problem with the nasty little muddy footprints up the hood to the roof. I got a good cover, but I think that soft material just made it more inviting! They're gonna' wind up on the car regardless of the type of cover. I put an older cover on top of my new one-didn't fit it, just laid it over the old one. So far, no scratches. The other option would keep me up late and put BB dents in the finish....can't win..

Throw some moth ***** around your parking area, most critters will stay away.
Get the kind they sell in a store, harvesting moth ***** is tricky & time consuming.
Aerial bombardment may still be an issue.

They make a spray to keep cats out of your garden, maybe you could spray some of this on the outside of the cover, or better yet lay a old bed cover over your car cover and spray that with the stuff. Once they get use to the spray being on there you may be able to stop using it and they will still stay away..Cats have very good memorys.....WW

We need a good old fashioned n00b thrashing to get back into the spirit of things.
