Peter Max's Corvettes on streets of NYC
I did not know who's Vettes these were until I saw a thread on Digital Corvettes. I thought they were abandoned or being used for a movie scene but they turned out to be Peter Max's when he closed his building garage in Brooklyn and was transporting them to a new location. I took these 2 pics. I thought someone might want to see them.

Well, I followed the threads and all I can say is WOW! Incredible cache of Corvettes! And it looks like they're there to stay awhile.
While I understand the threadposters' concerns about 'rescuing' them, the fact remains that they are private property. It would be nice, however it this Peter Max would allow them to be farmed out for restoration and kept in an environment to allow them to be viewed and appreciated instead of slowly drying out and rotting in a garage somewhere...

In all fairness, since I have never heard of him, your post persuaded me to research him. For me anyway, it's hard to imagine his style making a Corvette look better, but that's just me. But I guess one wouldn't hurt, if he gave the others a chance for restoration..

He was also well known for rock and roll posters.
As for never hearing of him...like they say "youth is wasted on the young!" (Just kidding!)

I don't give a crap who he is! Even though he painted several guitars for a company that I used to work for (which If I recall did not sell for crap). This is corvette abuse and he is not worthy. What a waste! If a vette is art then painting them to turn them into art is just pointless!

All in all, I think those corvettes have more potential than Peter Max. Designer painting is one thing, the cars are quite another. I think he's overated.
P.T. Barnum was right! There, I said it!

I think he is overrated as well, now, but like many artists that have passed, their work was not recognized and appreciated as much alive than dead. I am sure that these vettes will be worth a pretty penny. They all already have his signature/mark on them with that strip of color painted on the fenders.
