my c4 for a c5 hardtop or subaru wrx sti
last week i was in palm springs and visited a dealer with a c5 corvette hardtop and a used 5,000 mile 2011 subaru wrx sti.the subaru is turbo and the guy telle me that it would be faster than the c5.is this true?the subaru's sticker call it for 23 mpg on the freeway.i looked in the c5 section and some people claim that thgeir c5 corvette gives them 30 mpg.
how can a v8 gives more miles per gal than a four cylinders motor?the subaru looked very nice,it was black and comfortable.the c5 was comfortable but reminded me of the camry.i led the subaru but no way it is better than a c5.

Don't know what Subi's get, but it's true that C5/C6s can get pushing 30mpg on freeway runs.
I know a member here that's also a Subi forum member, maybe he'll come along shortly and tell you about the speed differences.

The C5 is very capable of getting 30mpg on the interstate.
It won't average that in every day driving though.
My '96 will constantly get 28-30 mpg on interstate driving too.
These cars don't really weigh much, and with a 6-speed are only barely above idle with cruising down the interstate at 70-75 mph.
But when you figure in "everyday" driving, the average is more like 18 mpg.

awd sucks gas, otherwise those subarus would get 30 mpg also. The STI is 300 hp .
the acceleration would be similar, except at elevation where the 'baru would have an advantage. The V8 would pull harder over 100 mph though.
