Thanks....I have been working on cleaning it up all winter. It was always a garage kept car but never really cared for like I would have thought. I have spent countless hours on it cleaning and servicing it. I have started polishing it now....that is working really well. Although I have some lighter scratches that I have not been able to remove quite yet. I might need a heavier cutting compound, I am not sure just yet. I don't want to ruin the paint but I am extremely careful of course. The PorterCable polisher I have is quite good though it makes it easy for a novice to do a fairly decent job of polishing...

I am thoroughly enjoying all of the time I get to spend on cleaning and servicing my car. It is my first vette and I have been waiting many years to get one of these and it is a lot of fun.

Wow, I went through all 70 some pages and had to throw up some old pics of my car. Bought it when I was 18 and had absolutely no clue what I was doing but I did have fun.

Hello. My '95 C4, just a few months into corvette ownership and love every minute. Need to spend some good time in the garage.

Love all the great pics in this thread. I'm only 5 days into ownership - haven't had the chance to detail the 96' LT4 yet. I am loving the short shifter... Now if I could just get the damn seat to go down

How do you like the short shifter? Is it difficult to shift with or anything like that? I just installed one in my LT4 convertible. I have not driven it yet though it is still a few weeks until I get it back on the road.

I like that shift boot and shifter wrap - did you do that yourself?

I really like the short throw, now that I am used to it. It took about a day to get used to just how short it is. I got a good feel for it on the 200+ mi ride home from the dealership. It's the B&M ripper shifter (which I guess is no longer available), and from reading here has mixed reviews. Before I bought the LT4 car, I had only driven one stock 6 speed (w/LT1), so I don't have a ton to compare to. Reverse is difficult to get into, but it's rarely used. I'm in the love it camp. It takes some effort to shift, and it's very short - there's no doubt about knowing you're in gear. When you're really into the throttle you can pull off some awesome shifts - with 3rd to 4th being my current favorite.

I'll try to get a video of mine in action this afternoon when I leave the office and will post it up here.

I purchased the boot and wrap from redline goods.com they will custome design it all for you and send it to you. The stripe matches my paint color and the thread is the color of the embroidery in my head rest.

My shifter is the Hurst model which is now B&M I guess. They are reproduced by another company in billet aluminum. It looks cool for sure. Thanks for the feedback. Looking forward to the video.

I got the video, but didn't get a chance to upload @ home last night. I'll probably walk over to Starbucks (we have no Tim Horton's here in Seattle yet) and try uploading today.
