Currently I get about 80 miles on 80% DOD ( depth of discharge).
I could ave chose to go for distance , however then you are adding about an additional 200 pounds to the car.
I'm currently running 108 100AH batteries (752 lbs.). In the past I was running 76 200Ah batteries (1,045 lbs) and was able to do well over 100 miles range.
So almost every where I drive too, there are public charging stations that i can plug into, they typically cost about 3 dollars ( a gallon of gas ) to "fill up". As a back up I also carry a 120V / 220V charging cable that I can plug into if needed. As a 3rd resort there is AAA who actually can or will tow you to a closest charging station but in over 6 years that i have converted the car, I have not run into that situation.
There is a car show I regularly attend that is about 54 miles away, I attend the car show, when it is over I have lunch or dinner while the car charges for about an hour. That is enough juice to get me home again without any issues.

Mo,
Do you get any "break" on registration fees from the state because it is an electric vehicle?

As promised, I have been a busy frog.
So it has been probably at least 6 years since I have done the brakes so I up dates with new rotors that are cross drilled and slotted. I also picked up some caliper covers.
So here are a few pics of them...
<br/>previous rotors ...
New rotors and caliper covers
Passenger side rotors and covers
i also added two 800 CFM blowers to the new Siamese 11" motors the help with arc flash over when accelerating at high current and high voltage . I'm currently running 160V at 2000 amps ( 1000 into each motor) for a total of 320,000 watts or 428 HP. Still some wire tidying up to do but everything is functional...
Two 800 CFM blowers to cool as well as prevent plash over under high acceleration.
Also I finally found a meter that has all the functionality I could ever want.
It has alarm functions as well a keeps me informed of how much battery I have left, distance to empty, how many amp hours I'm using as well as current I'm pulling from the batteries and a million other functions.
It has a small rotor switch that I can pull up 15 pages of information. If an alarm goes off like pulling too much current from the batteries it will automatically go to the page that triggered the alarm. I can also log with a laptop as well.
Showing 380VDC battery voltage and my 12 battery is resting at 13,2 volts, it sags to about 12.8 when the fans and other pumps are running.
This is showing the charger added 11.4 amp hours to the traction battery pack , It is showing 18.2 miles distance to empty. ( I reset the meter after the charging is complete. The 25 segment shows my state of charge which is 100% so it is essentially like a fuel gauge.
Enjoy!

Yes these cover the stock calipers.
These are made by MGP Part #: 25-251694-1
Corvette MGP Red Caliper Covers Set, 1988-1996
I got them from Eckler's they are simple to install.

I know some people do, but I like being a sleeper. No I'm not required to label it as a Battery Electric Vehicle at least here in California.
