Finshed my Paint Job lot of Pics
Well ladies and gents, despite some resistance from the elderly community I went ahead with my "in your face" paint scheme and fresh emblems. This was my first paint job ever and I just jumped right into it, made a ton of mistakes, learned a bunch, and overall I'm pleased with the results. metallics are not perfect but I can re-do a panel here and there over weekends and stuff. I am glad I went against the grain and did the hybrid stripe. I havent ever seen anyone with this design (either gs stripe, or two all the way). Maybe it will catch on. I think it fits the car really well, even if you don't care for the colors.
All in all it has taken me 233 hours to this point (and prob another 100 in odds and ends to go). Special thanks to Lars Grimsrud's guide, it was a lot of help.
I orignially wanted Quasar but I have never seen one in real life so I went with Speedway Blue (toyota) and synergy Green (new camaro lmt. color)
I have new weatherstripping still to do, and new rims should be coming in a few weeks with no peeling chrome
What do y'all think?
This took foooorrr evvvvverrrrrr. painting sanding then cleaning up each letter with thinner.
And here is as good as it gets before. Lots of damage in the back you cant see, where a poor paint job was flaking down to the fiberglass. I always thought white was a little bland...
and the interior is next on the list.... have all the stuff, just a matter of time.
painting in 110* garage in low country sc is not fun. sweat dripping on the paint was a big problem. this is how I feel after I step outside!
Thank god I'm not married, my wife would kill me. my sink is abstract art!
ready for a night on the town after some overspray.
some initial sanding on rear
Hood after first prime and sand.

I think the blue looks good not a fan of the green lantern stripe.

Thanks guys, I've had a lot of positive feedback. Sad really only you guys can relate to the work that this takes and appreciate it like I do. First question I've been getting is "who did the paint job" or "I see you got a new paint job, its gorgeous!" Then im like no baby, I did it all in house.

Lemme guess.... your not married.
Looks good. The green and blue compliment each other.
I would have chosen silver rather than black to define the stripe.

You did an excellent job. You should be proud.
BTW Years ago I painted a motorcycle in my kitchen. I was married. She was not happy when she got home. We just celebrated 42 years this last July. she forgave me.

The finish looks better than my so called high $ paint job on mine.
Wet look
You will probably grow horns out of your head and die from toxic poisoning (from your dishes) but at least your car has shiny paint. lol
Its Ok we understand

I love the design. The blue looks great on that car (even if it came from Toyota :P ). I've never been a fan of green, but no one should EVER dictate what your own car looks like (unless you do something stupid). I probably would have gone with a silver pinstripe around a flat black stripe, but hey, that's me. Again, I love the design and I might just take this page out of your book :P
GIVE ME MORE PAGES!!! :P
Great job. That's better than I've seen from "pro" paint places

Hey, it could always be worse. At least the guy who I posted before put a TON of work into and it looked allright. I just don't like it when people take a Corvette and turn it into another car.
At least it is a Vette. I'm sure we have all seen this picture.....
