Any other C4s with a LS3 "Hot Cam"
In 2010 I had a LS3 "Hot Cam" GM Performance Parts crate engine (the LS376/480 Hot Cam) installed in my '92 convertible. Since then I've seen a couple of C4s with LS1s and LS2s installed but none with the LS3 "Hot Cam". If you want to see my build, google "C4orce2" and look for the photobucket. It has an album on the build. I'm just curious if any of you have done the same as I have or if you know of anyone who has. I have seen the same engine in a couple of 70 or 71 Chevells. Just curious.

Yes, you are the only one I've seen that is going with the LS3, forget about the LS3 Hot Cam. However, I agree with your choice. Several guys from Calif that have seen my car have told me that it would never pass in CA. It may not even pass in NV. If it were not for the "Collectible Car Waiver" here in AZ, I would have a tough time registering it here also. Just another reason for me not to move to either of those states! Let me know how your swap turns out.

Thanks. I'll keep my swap updates in the other thread. It's been nice being able to correspond with C4orce2 the last few months.
I'm subscribed to an LS3 Vette swap over on that "other" forum, but when I double checked it's a C5---LS1 to LS3.

Agent13's dyno numbers are very consistent with mine. I have the Hot Cam version of the LS3 (the LS 376/480), long tube headers and 3" exhaust all the way. After being tuned in March on a loaded dyno like the one Agent13 used, my numbers were 429rwhp and 442rwtq. My tuner also said he could get more out of it but I wanted it on pump gas with no problems so we left it with that tune. In either package, stock LS3 or the Hot Cam version, these are great engines!

Just to avoid any confusion, the LS3 "Hot Cam" enigine I have in C4orce2 is called the "LS 376/480" in the GMPP list of engines. They have other LS engines that all start with the LS3 that have even more horsepower. Eventhough my engine is rated by GM to have 480 hp and 475 tq, as it is set up in my car a loaded dyno put it at 429 rwhp and 442 rwtq. Hard telling what the SAE net numbers are based upon these loaded dyno results. In any event both the hp and tq are well over 500.

Its now been almost two years since I started this thread. Other than a couple of guys that posted above who have had LS3s put in their cars, I have not heard of any others. I still cannot find anyone other than me who was crazy enough to install the LS3 Hot Cam (GMPP LS376/480). If anyone else has installed that engine, let us know. I now have over 30,000 miles on my build and have not had any problems for well over a year. Thanks.
