Default Questions on replacing weather stripping on my c4

I just got all of the old weather stripping off my car and am ready to put some "new used" stripping back on that I got off a c4 at the junkyard. My main question is... how much glue should I be using. It was kinda a pain getting the old stuff off since it was glued down so firm... is that necessary? Just to clarify, I am only replacing the stripping that goes along the back section of the targa top on the roof.

I agree with everyone who say's "just buy a ZR-1" and not deal with the drama of swaping an LT5 into a stock corvette....

Unless you have a MINT corvette (interior and exterior) and get an unreal deal on an LT5 motor (with no issues)?

If you do decide to install an LT5 in your corvette, I can put you in touch with a gentleman who has installed 2 LT5's in stock corvettes (standard coupe and convertible)

Good luck

You don't need any adhesive at all on the A or B pillars. I didn't use any and it works fine. How were you able to get the old weatherstrip off the junkyard car without destroying it?

OOOOHHHHH!!! it totally makes sense now! because weather stripping and LT5.... ya know! haha thats funny! anyways, I took it off the car at the junk yard very carefully with a flat head screwdriver. it probably helped that it was around 100 degrees so that probably made it easier to get the stripping off without it getting tore up from the glue. Actually, I also got one for the rear hatch off the car as well, and it was hot enough that the glue for that section was completely liquid!

ohh and quick question about A and B pillars.... is one of the pillars say on the right side of the car that goes up behind you and holds the targa top up, the A pillar, and the one on the left the B pillar? or is it the entire one on the back is the A pillar and then the pillars by the window shield are the B pillar?

A pillar goes over top of windshield and down windshield frame. B pillar goes over the rear halo and down the side.

Weather stripping installed! check out the difference! It's not 100% perfect due to the fact that it was used weather stripping but still.... it made a huge difference.

Not bad for a used piece.

I'm amazed you were able to get the used one off in one piece without destroying it. The factory glue is incredibly strong. Everyone I've ever taken off came off in a million pieces

Yeah I think the Idaho heat was a big help! heated up the glue enough that I could slowly pry it off without tearing it all up! I'm pretty pumped about this, my car looks so much nicer without that old stuff, someone had put rubber cement all over it and as you can see from the pics it looked pretty bad.
