Default How do I know if I have heavy duty suspension?

I'm looking to replace all my rotors and pads and the different brake kits have my 91 C4 broken into 2 different prices. With heavy duty suspension and without. I looked at the orginal window sticker and looked at my VIN# on Vette Facts, but I cant tell if my car has the "HD Suspension" Its not a big price difference in the rotors and pads, but I want the correct product.

Any thoughts.....? THANKS!

Find your RPO codes I think under the center console in the 91

Go Here:

No, if he had Z07 which replace Z51 in 91. It has the J55 13" front brake package, so it does matter. Since he has standard it is 12" front and rear.

What about the rear brakes? Is there any difference in the calipers on the HD? Is there any difference in the rear rotors? -James

They're the same. J55 is a 13" front brake instead of 12", no difference to the rear

My '87 had the RPO label under the console lid.
If not there look in the storage boxes in rear

If you have J55 the only difference is the rotor & caliper on the front, they all use the same pads.

I don't believe Z52 got the J55 (13" brakes), so you would need calipers, rotors and caliper brackets to the knuckle to put larger brakes on your '88 in the front. Measure a rotor and if it's closer to 12" it's base brakes and if 13" then it's J55 which might have been added along the way.

Z52 I believe just added shocks, wheels, engine oil cooler, I believe the 2 turn rack/pinion and HD radiator.
