[ACCIDENT] C4 Corvette Rolls Over and Lands in Swamp
A Friday afternoon crash sent the driver of this 1987 Corvette to the hospital. The man was driving near Tiverton, RH when his Corvette left the road and went into a swampy area, rolled on its roof and trapped the driver under it.
When rescuers showed up, it took 40 minutes to free the trapped driver. He was airlifted to a Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries but was conscious and alert.

What a shame, I hope he's OK.
That looks like a classic case of too much car, not enough driver

Forty minutes to free him? That's forever! My brothers in fire and rescue and it hardly ever takes over 30 minutes to free someone, and that's if freeing them would hurt them somehow.
I mean jeez the roof pops right off these things, it's a lite car so they should have had no problems flipping it

For all the pro racers on this forum saying that car is too much says it all about the people saying it.
Clearly the roads were worse before the pics and the car was not prepped for that. Anybody could have done that in those tires and conditions. I see a lot of trees too so maybe he saved himself from a head collision of something too.
Regardless... I hope he gets away with just a hurt '87 corvette.

the rims are on backwards, i wonder if he had some "jiffy lube" rotate the tires for him at the last oil change, and had the directionals pointed the wrong way too.

So glad to hear that he's OK and what bad stroke of luck with what looks like a nice car. It is very easy to talk trash when someone is setting at a computer and don't have any idea what the facts are. Give him our best wishes from the Forum.
